If we can get confirmation from at least 20 people I'll talk to the powers that be about a bus.

maybe we should start asking for confirmations, bookings and deposits by mid January and possibly create a new "sticky" thread.

If the commitment isn't there by supporters there's no real point in going through with it. I'm sure 4 months is enough time to make a decision and pay a deposit.

Confirmations are needed first and foremost. If people can reply with something a bit more substantial than "I'm in" ;-) I can work from the numbers and see what sort of bookings etc need to be made.

What else do you need to know besides "im in", Colonel? "im in and I have money!" :?: ;-)

Seriously though, I'll be there and am wanting to be a part of all this. 8)

How far away is Parkes again?????

hey Hellchick its 4hrs non stop....but add in stopages plus a bus full of people youll probably find it will take 5-6hrs

You can also fly with regional express which takes 1 hour and will set you back around $100 if you book earlier enough.......

Is there anywhere to stay there? Coz if flying is that cheap, I might have a look into that...

There are quite a few places to stay. Why not go on the bus? Its actually not too bad a trip. ;-)

And for those north of the border, it is about 10 hours from Brisbane.

Might even be worthwhile stopping off at Wee Waa on the way...... :-k

Hey guys just to help you all out alittle bit, my friend owns the Coachman Hotel/Motel in Parkes (im not trying to give him a plug) but its probably the best Hotel in town. It's situated in the middle of town and 5min drive/15 min walk to Pioneer Oval and has really good amenities - but be quick as the Eels team took up residency there when they played cronulla in 02 so i would presume they'll take the majority of the rooms again.....
