Schifcofske the tip for the Test at fullback

I think Mini has to be there-but I don't think he's a fullback, at least not a rep level.

Schif is a top player. His kicking is just a bonus. And whoever said if he plays he shouldn't do his little jink on kick returns (I think it was Woodgers-Wash your mouth out!) is out of their mind. The hot-schif-shuffle is how he scores his tries!

He'll let no-one down in the gold and green.

Someone send this guy a tape of last year's Origin series. You know, that REP series where Mini was one of NSW top 3 or so players throughout the series.

Please explain why he's good enough to kill them at NRL level, but not Rep elvel (even though he has btw)? What does he lack to be a rep FB? (even though we've seen he lacks nothing)

It's unlikely, but perhaps after his terrible performance in last year's grand final there's a question mark in the selector's minds over whether he can handle the pressure at the back in big games? That's about all I can think of because Minichiello has been in great form this year and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.

Still, I'd prefer Schif for fullback

Devere is more of a chance that Shif. And is kicking at a much higher % this year, 86% last time I checked to Shif's 72ish.

As for the person saying we should look at the stats to see who the better fullback is - I couldnt agree more. Minichiello misses more tackles than Preston Campbell, now thats saying something! I wouldnt trust him for a second at the back, as soon as their is a linebreak you know its a try.

Almost all fullbacks have a poor missed tackles record, and some weeks are better than others in regards to that, so you can't use that as an excuse. Minichiello should be the fullback without doubt, no matter how much you Raiders fans love Shifcofske. If Minichiello wasn't chosen at fullback he would have a right to feel seriously pissed off

It is undeniable that Shifcofske and Minichello are at opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of their defensive capability.

Saying that, Minichello is definately a better attacker, so I guess it is up to the selectors to determine whether they want more attack or more defense from the fullback position.

IMO neither should get the spot, Lockyer should.

I would love to see schif in the green and gold and i think he would do a fine job, but ive complained about rep teams not being picked on form so i dont like being a hyperctie, Minichello should be fullback IMHO, but lets remember that both Schif and Mini can play wing and do a fine job, i really dont think either would complain about being on the wing for the australian team 8)
If its about positional play, defence and the safe option, then schif fullback and mini wing, if attacking brillience is what they want at the back, Mini at fullback and Schif on the wing 8)
