I’m very happy for an app that sees if I come in close contact with a corona carrier...and vice versa. I don’t care if it is location based...but they are saying it won’t be.
Be nice if we heard from albo so it doesn’t become a political issue.
Very easy also to turn off location services on an app.

don’t get the app
f**king simple
Don’t get it.
Do not have it on your phone
Refuse to download it.

i won’t be.

But funnily enough, the app will be less effective if only a minority of people participate. So if I get covid and don’t have the app, you won’t know if I’ve been near you.

So maybe, it might not be a bad idea to address the privacy issues to bring more people on board.

Don’t have a phone then.
You seem extremely paranoid or just arguing because it was a libs idea.

I have my opinion on it regardless of what Albo thinks.

It’s a political issue whether the two major parties agree or not.

Especially when coalition MPs and right wing groups are wary of it.

I’ve already made the point that I agree with Joyce on this- someone on the opposite side and who I generally despise. Someone who I think is generally way worse than Morrison.
Then stop pretending there is any way the libs could make this palatable to you. You’ve said it may have some use in a washup scientific study thingy...but you have not said what they could do to make it work to actually identify and stop the spread.
You hate the idea and would never support it. Fine.Big surprise.

No, I think you could use it to stop the spread then the data could be further analysed afterwards.

I don’t even know if it was Liberal idea. Someone may have come to them with the idea. It could have been a Labor idea that they decided to run with for all I know

I don’t care about who comes up with things. I care about the things.

Well all that doesn’t matter
Because... you don’t have to put it on your phone .

It’s not something any paranoid f**ker needs to worry about.

You are arguing over something that isn’t happening.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Can’t wait to download this app and save lives.

Do my bit for king and country. Let’s hope the loony tinfoil hat wearers don’t kill anyone by letting this thing spread when it doesn’t need to.

Whatever. Haha.Always thought learning was about your entire life and required open minded assessment of everything .throughout your life. Your mindset is not unknown, or surprising to me..You might be surprised I even have friends of similar mindset. I suppose in real life you see that and stop the arguement once the line is established. I just believe the consequences these days are getting VERY relevant VERY soon.
.

Everyone's mindset is built on experiences or what they see and read ,that's obvious..
Even the virus onset via Wuhan and the Chinese cone of silence, before it was finally blurted out.I don''t work in a virus lab.

When I am accused by someone of being an arrogant, "expert" because they aren't a farmer. And would never pretend to be an expert on trucking ,even though their in law is one.I respond.

Yet the irony is ,it's quite OK to lecture people here on global warming and at last reports not a climate scientist. And uses Greta as an example, despite the fact she also is not a climate scientist. or a scientist with that sort of experience. Not even out of high school, though I respect her courage and her convictions.
I have always stated burning the rainforests in my view is a crime, as is dumping of waste and not building dams to save water.I dislike Alan jones with a passion, but one thing I do agree on is the wastage of the huge quantities of water in the Nthn regions of Oz.
I am open minded about politics ,having voted for Hawke & Co .

Yeah and I have long time friends like that, do as I say not as I do personalities. They are still good mates.

My point is ,in life everyone has a viewpoint on any subject that takes their interest, some subjects they couldn't give a rats.Like civil engineering.Yet travel I'll sit down and talk about it for yonks.
The info comes usually from the media electronic or print, and we usually rely on the authenticity of the story, even though on occasions it has probably been edited or slanted to follow the media agenda. And yes now an again when one, experiences that particular incident or occupation. and offers a viewpoint

That's where I come from.

Was just watching 9 news
They had that tech nerd on and he explained the app.
He reckons it is nowhere as intrusive as Facebook google maps etc and he’ll definitely be getting it.

but just in case

(Not mine, I just borrowed it.) So the government wants us to trust them on the Corona Virus App. Saying data will not be stored by Police or federal police. But this is a Government Who Lied to us about Sports Grants, Water Licences, Travel Expenses, welfare cashless debit card, Asylum Seekers, ASIO Leaks And Robodebt.
I will not be using the covid app.
