Caylo..... if you might play the ball rather than the man it would be appreciated.
caylo said:im convinced your wrong, for so many reason i'd hate to disclose to you, because it would probably lead you into a spiral of depression, and self hatred... I wouldn't do that to you, what would i do for entertainment.
I'm just glad with you "high profile" selectors job, that you where never demed sane enough to be a selector in any parramatta teams... your judgment seems clouded at best. Is somone paying you to discredit timmy?
parra pete said:Actually..I don't think being a Riverina Under 18 selector is high profile...but I did get to propel the careers of some of the biggest names in Rugby League..like Steve Martin, Ray Brown and Terry Regan when they were just coming onto the scene, and I gain a lot of satisfaction from knowing that.
(oh i know, i was being sarcastic, you know making fun of you. hence why they where in inverted commas... wow ur not very observent are you. )
I never put my hand up for a selectors job at the Eels..
(and im glad )
Criticism of my opinion of a footballer's ability certainly would not send me into a spiral of depression...I have other things to do that to me..and self hatred is never on my agenda..nor is hatred of anyone or anything.
Hatred is self defeating. When you hate someone or something you give them or it power over you.
(i don't hate, again making fun of you. You realy have to be able to realise the difference between literal and non-literal phrases... come on pete your goin down hill on me, turn it up.)
Whether my judgement is clouded (the first step is exeptance, im proud of you, the hardest part is over) or whatever...that's me...my problem for me to resolve by myself, by my own observations.
Nobody is paying me to discredit Tim Smith...Why would they
(again not serious... why would anyone pay you?)
I did not realise though, that I have to toe the party line, and am not allowed to have views contrary to 'main stream'. (incorrect use of inverted commas, sorry try again... wow your english is just about as bad as mine)
I realise that a player who had a very very very ordinary season in 2006..is rated as a 'superstar' by a majority on this forum. Why, I can't fathom.
He will need to produce a lot better form in 2007 to convince me of his high standing in here, and in my opinion, to remain in first grade under Mick Hagan.. I think sentimental favorites will go out the window under the new regime.
(wow the first thing i agree on, he has alot of work to do... my problem isn't the fact that you don't think his good enough, it your faith... i don't understand why you would be so pesemistic, and negative... I'm starting to think he ran over your dog with his skatboard)
Thanks Colonel and Suity for your comments.
Caylo, I enjoy your contributions and your points of views..Don't hold back....
Keep yourself entertained.
(don't i get a thanks... you have upset me now pete )

i've said pretty much the same thing many times.Ron Jeremy said:You'll find that 80% of Tims forwards passes aren't even forward, they're flat and it has been proven on many occasions by commentators that he was hard done by.
Atleast Tim is willing to take a risk.
strider said:i think timmy throws plenty forward - but plenty that are NOT also seemed to get called up ..... if the refs are gonna call flat/slightly forward passes forward then fine - but what pisses me off is the blatant inconsistancy - they r all over tim like a rash, but there are tonnes of passes the same from other players let go - passes from dummy halves seem to be "allowed" to be slightly forward these days
eelavation said:Tim seems to have tendency to take a step back the moment he passes the ball which can be deceptive to the naked eye...and I think that's why he gets called up alot, don't know whether anyone else has noticed or not.
parra pete said:Ron, answer this question...What was Tim's best game in 2006, and on the scale of 1-10 how did you rate him, and where does that place him in relation to the other half backs in the NRL.
The bloke is ORDINARY at best...VERY ORDINARY in my opinion.
With regards to selectors, yes, I probably should have followed the family line as my older brother was an Australian selector who gave many of the top line internationals their first taste on international scene......

strider said:I'll have a crack at this one ...
the game he got injured vs Newcastle - may have only played half a game but his kicking and passing was fantastic that night .... I actually watched the game again on bigpond last sunday morning and was thinking timmy had a top game until half time.
I'd rate it a 8.5 out of 10 .... and considering he was playing against god's gift to rugby league in that game, he comparatively did f'n well against the benchmark of halfbacks in hte NRL.
I won't pretend he had a great season - but I accept alot of that was due to poor team performance as much as poor timmy performance.
But at the end of the day the kid has talent and I honestly expect him to have a great 2007.
