I don't want to run down Walsh because he is a great little player and i wish him well, but every coach in every grade has started pretty much every season with Walsh love because of his great attitude and desire to follow coach's instructions, and pretty much every coach in every grade has given him the flick for the 'maverick' when the season got serious.
Dureau wins games.
Walsh does his job.

The comparison between Dureau and Cronk has been made a lot around here.

The difference between the two is that Cronk is a great defender and has great speed off the mark. He knows his limitations with the ball and plays accordingly. He makes the right choice the large majority of the time. All things Dureau lacks.

Let me just make it clear that I do not have anything personal against Dureau. But I can't see him leading us to a premiership. A quality halfback should be our first priority in the player market.

What team has ever won a premiership with rotating halves and a halfback that is in the team 1 week, out the next, on the bench the next etc etc? That's one other main difference between Cronk and Dureau - one of them plays every week.

Apart from when Rogers was "rested" after round one (Whether it was really because he had "heat stroke" or because he had a bad first game for us or a bit of both), the swapping and three-pronged halves approach has been due to injury. If Mullo's shoulder can stand up to 80 minutes of week-to-week footy, I believe the Mullo/Rogers combo will establish itself.

Dureau is a handy back up half and no more than that. Ben Rogers has gone to a new level this season. He is slowly finding the consistency he has lacked in previous seasons. His natural ability is never up for debate. His attitude is at times. He has a strong running game that I never thought he had in him.

On Dureau's tackling, he made 11 tackles this week and missed none, Mullen made 6 and missed 5.

I was very impressed with Rogers defence against the titans

Sometimes Chris Sandow doesn't miss a tackle one week as well, it hardly makes him a good defender.

I don't consider Mullen a fantastic defender either, but I know who I'd rather make a try saving tackle one on one between Mullen and Dureau.

Mullo's defence has been a real worry since he did his shoulder.

Stats: tackles (missed)
Broncos: 14 (6), topped the missed tackle count
country/city: 15 (6), topped the missed tackle count
Titans: 13 (2)

Hopefully the improvement against the Tits is a promising sign; and if his shoulder has been the problem, it is something he can overcome as he gets used to defending with whatever issues it is giving him.
