I don't think that's true, what excuses have been made for Lee?

I’ve had to make some for friends.

He says silly things.

I’d like to ask him where Latrell is and whether or not he’s sent Josh down to buy fuel for the 2 stroke?

Every time he says we are going to get tough, the soap gets slippery.

I’d prefer it if he remain composed, especially when we are sleazing around the market place looking to hook up with players already in a relationship.

If you look on WT’s web site, they have introduced a “ask the boss” segment, where you send questions in, it is for Justin so not sure if Lee gets involved.

you could ask your questions there

Id better become a 2021 member first.

For better or worse, I am a satisfied with Pascoe per se, Hartigan is an accomplished footy manager (recruiter) and I’m 70% Madge.

But in terms of doing my bit, as I am connected to senior people at Allied Express, I try to get the odd message through that we are a f**king great club.

They are a good company too. We use them at work of course.

I can let the panel know that I know first hand that they do their bit for people who are really struggling in different ways but they don’t shove their generosity down people’s throats or use it for self serving marketing.

We can be very proud of our association with them.

My understanding is that they are ok with things at the club atm.

Are you aware we have just partnered with Awabakal? They are a indigenous healthcare provider, I think we are doing great things.

Only 1 trial next season, against Raiders at LO, should be a full house.

I'm actually really enjoying Lee's commentary. It's transparent enough to keep us informed on what's going on at the club, and grandiose enough to keep the media distracted from pestering anyone involved with the day to day running of the club. Usually they would be sitting out the front gates at concord trying to get whatever scoop they could to drag our club through the mud. Now they can just go to Lee directly and he can steer the story in the right direction.

I know this is not popular opinion - but I like Lee

And we don’t really seem to be getting to much bad press from anyone, including Freddy the fool, since he has made his comments.

Yeah true. Lee's name carries weight in NRL, and he's shown he is more than happy to put people on blast if they f**k with him or the WT.

All good, but when you don’t carry through, the message is that you are a walkover.

And at least Matt’s and Allo got their grubby way.

Having said that, we can’t complain with the axe being wielded so hard and fast since Madge arrived. 60% of the squad decapitated with more to follow.

My dark horse next year is Dougie, he’s reaching sub elite in some respects, strike half with ample skills and a good footy brain. Lucy is also reaching up to his best form. He can only get better. This is from stock a few years ago, so that’s very exciting.

The side is starting to look pretty menacing in terms of size and strength.

I’ve said it before, but Madge has always liked sides with big blokes. I think this dates back to Warren Ryan and his general theory of trying to isolate little guys with big blokes, the war of attrition.

In a faster game, this takes on a new dimension.

The key is high fitness levels, and this is why Madge is so keen on this aspect. A lot of cardio, a lot of physical resilience required.

The nrl must be the toughest sport in the world. You have to be almost super human to play it. I salute all the players, for their physical efforts. They are extraordinary people.

The breakout star of the 2021 season could again be wearing the Wests Tigers No.9 jersey.

Jake Simpkin is hardly a household name, but then again neither was Harry Grant this time last year. But just like Grant, Simpkin is expected to make his mark and eventually become the long-term replacement for Robbie Farah.

Simpkin will battle it out with the luckless Jacob Liddle for the starting dummy-half spot over the summer, the latter returning from his third-season ending surgery.

Unlike Grant, who is tipped to return to Melbourne pending a decision on Cameron Smith's future, the Tigers have a keeper in Simpkin. Like his predecessor, he is a Queensland product who has played representative football at junior level.

Grant, crowned the Dally M rookie of the year in a season that included a State of Origin debut in which he scored the series-winning try, has shown Simpkin a rapid rise is possible if opportunities are taken.

"That's everyone's dream, the way he has risen up," Simpkin said. "'H' put in a fair bit of hard work, so I have to do that as well and those sort of rewards can come my way."

Simpkin grew up supporting the Broncos and was being groomed to eventually make his name at the club. However, a meeting with Tigers coach Michael Maguire last year changed everything.

"It came out of the blue; my manager rang me and said 'Hey, Madge wants to have dinner with us tonight', it was when Magic Round was on in Brisbane," Simpkin recalled.

"I went out there, we met with him for a bit over an hour, and I liked what he was trying to grow at the Wests Tigers. I just wanted to be a part of that going forward.

"After that meeting, I was keen to be a part of the Tigers.

"I always wanted to wear that Broncos No.9 jersey being in Queensland and growing up supporting the Broncos as well.

"It was pretty tough to leave there, especially with my family being there as well. I just thought this was a better opportunity for myself and I was keen to learn and grow, to get out of my comfort zone. That's what I've done in Sydney."

Last season was Simpkins' first at the joint-venture outfit, but there were few opportunities to impress. The former Wynnum-Manly rake's only appearance was in the opening game for the NSW Cup season, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"Last season sucked with COVID, it's been a while [between games]," he said. "It was obviously pretty challenging watching the boys play week in and week out and wanting to be with them playing footy.

"In saying that it was a really good year for my development. I sat back, watched and learned. I trained hard with Hodgo [former assistant coach Brett Hogson] and a few of the other coaches on my skill.

"I felt like, if anything, it was a blessing as well."

Simpkin has been receiving specialist coaching from Farah once a week during the pre-season.

"It's been pretty special to have someone like him around, to pick his brain a bit," he said.

"It's been really good so far."

Some good things seem to be happening atm, SO if we finish better than last year, say 10th, it will be considered a success won’t it?:joy::joy::joy:

If we show fight in most games and just miss out of the top 8 I can't really feel too upset cos my expectations won't be much better. Like if we play like we did against parra/penrith the first time and lose I can say hey they had a go. It's performances against the Knights twice that make us go 2 steps backwards every year.
