I don’t recall Isaac Tago playing in the back row this season my memory suggests he played exclusively in the centre position. Regardless, it would be a huge ask for a kid with an entirely different skill set to be expected to fill Viliame shoes. Anyway it is what it is and it is for Ivan and his new coaching staff to figure out. I’m sure there is a plan.
Thats the whole point we need to use our left winger and centre more. Cut out balls, kicks, whatever works. Kikau can't be replaced by who we have in the squad but
Turuva-May-Tago is far stronger than
May-Tago-Garner/Hoskings

That’s all fine in theory. When did May last play in the centre position and Tago is untried in the back row. Two big unknowns right there. Anyway as I have said previously probably best to let Ivan and Co to work it out.

Tago is a backrower. Would be small at NRL level though.
May-Jenkins-Tago is also a option.

Personally think Ivan will go conservative with Garner

Especially with Tago at the World Cup, We will start the year with the basic squad. Build from that

It was the year before he played backrow on and off.

Because two players have left? The fact is Ivan, clearly, knows what he is doing

No you mentioned 3 Grand finals
In that time we lost 3 Origin players, Including a hooker
Kikau a huge x factor on the 2nd row

A few other depth guys, Like who is our back up centre?

Hooking options are a rookie that has 102min of NRL footy or a guy that has been playing utility for the past 3 years.

So there should be some doubt over how the side will go

I know what I mentioned. Ivan's coaching helped a lot, and factoring in the success of the lower grades, will help.

The team had a great season in 2004 making a prelim.

Anyone want to remind how many finals appearances came in the next ten years.

I think the team will still be top four next year. I do however have memories of how our stacked rep pack was the envy of the league going into 2005.

We still had the 2003 GF winning spine.

The 05 team couldn't even manage the West Tigers cup.

Lets look at the potential top 17

Edwards
May
Tago
Crichton
To'o
Luai
Cleary
JFH
Kenny
Leota
Garner
Martin
Yeo

Luke
Sorensen
Leinu
Salmon

Looks solid, So Top 4 isn't out of the question.

The question is though it looks a grinding team, Not sure where the x factor needed to win the big games is
