Won’t be confirmed officially as I think he’ll start in Flegg, maybe someone with links to the club can confirm

But found this on the channel 9 website

Premiers Penrith are close to adding two of the best young prospects in New Zealand to their ranks.

Francis Manuleleua , a utility back ranked the number one year 11 schoolboy in the country, is on the Panthers' radar, along with Warriors' back-up hooker Taniela Otukolo.

Manuleleua is an 18-year-old utility back who plays both five-eighth and centre for renowned Auckland football nursery Kings College.

He was chased by both league and rugby union scouts but is believed he opted for the Panthers after watching their demolition of Parramatta in the NRL grand final.

Tongan-born Otukolo is a 20-year-old hooker who has already played nine NRL games for the Warriors since debuting in 2021.

He is being looked at by Penrith as an extra back-up for Mitch Kenny and rookie Soni Luke following the loss of star hooker Api Koroisau to the Wests Tigers.

To date, the Panthers have signed just one 'name' player - back-rower Luke Garner from Wests Tigers.

But rival clubs have been quick to swoop on the 2021-22 grand final winners with Koroisau, Viliame Kikau (Bulldogs), Isaiya Katoa (Dolphins), Robert Jennings (Dolphins), J'maine Hopgood (Eels) and Sean O'Sullivan (Dolphins) all leaving.

Francis is definitely confirmed. Expected at training next month.

The 05 team couldn't even manage the West Tigers cup.
I'm pretty sure we beat them convincingly in the last round. We needed to win 30+ from memory and other results to go our way to jag 8th spot. We came close to the margin, but the other results went the wrong way.

But yeah, a very disappointing year.

Went on a five game winning streak to end the season.

Towelled up the Tigers in the final round.

The streak included an awesome come from behind win to beat Brisbane in the final minute at home.

Even then finished tenth with Ricky showing his coaching career belongs to Freddy, with the Roosters finishing ninth.

Do you know if we still have that huge, young Polynesian prop we poached from Manly?
Tyreece Tonga although he has another name I’m not sure what it is.

He kind of appeared to fall out of favour at the back end of last season, didn’t make the 17 for the GF.

Not sure where his future lies but not sure it is with us and others may be ahead of him going forward.

Yet when people try to spark conversation on here, Get you trust Ivan BS.

Whether people like it or not, That is going to be the discussion around the team
The issue is generally it isn’t a discussion, just whinging. This article says that we will miss Api (which I have never seen anyone here disagree with) but then sticks it neck out and says we will come second. that makes for a good discussion.

The alternative is what generally happens on this site; which is, whatever seems to be the topic of the day, it generally gets back to one of the usual suspects posting ‘the club is dumb for letting Api go’ (like he is some form of house elf we have given a piece of clothing too) and then ‘Kenny isn’t a first grade quality 9’.

I have in numerous occasions tried to ask those that write this what that actually means. Initially there were some suggestions by some on this site that we wouldn’t even make the 8, but more recently there seems to be a reluctance to describe what this means.

So, my question remains to the ‘Api is gone and we are going to hell’ brigade; if you want a discussion, stop the barbs and start discussing what is means for your anticipated position next year. Put some context around your views.

For what it’s worth, I think our best team is the best team in the comp next year. My concern os with forward depth, so I think we are top without injuries, 2-3 with a few major injuries in the forwards and 4-5 if we lose Fish and/or Martin for serious time next year.

Kenny can't pass a football off the ground and has no natural ability to read the game or the ruck. Is that simple enough for you?

He is a f**king great defender and a very good option for 14 though.

Luke is the issue, I don't think he can defend well enough and with his history I'll be amazed if he's not injured a lot

Discussion stops when the only replies are trust Ivan. Happy to actually discuss it but very few people do

Luke has 105min of FG and is 26, What of that to you screams NRL hooker?

I think Kenny passes too slow, Doesn't run it as a result is very predictable. As a result the defence will have more time to pressure the recievers.

We have a much bigger sample size to go by. A few ex players have mentioned this in commentary. Aaron Woods was one in the lead up to the grand Final
