Its not that we are poor at execution but just poor at application. When this team is switched on it is deadly at full strength and beautiful to watch

We get that back, we give this comp a good shake

Beaten by Jed Bogan. That sums it up. Pathetic. RIP 2013. Bennett's aura, legacy or whatever you want to call it is dying a quick death with this lot. I said after the Penrith game to look at the ladder in 6 weeks time because we would be on the same points. I was wrong .... but not by much.

Yeah I remember that, it was a good call. Pretty scary that the Panthers game wasn't one of our losses, but was probably the worst performance of them all.

We are the team every loves to play because in most cases we drop to their level and give them a sniff which is all they need. We are guaranteed to run them back into form.

Seriously if we had half a clue we would have put 40 on them, bogey team or not because they have been a rabble. But we find a way to choke in the end, again.

Constantly hoping for the return of injured players isn't a strategy, because by the time they are back on deck, there will be too much to do, just like last year, we are losing games that we should be winning easily, we just fold as soon as the opposition come at us hard. We can beat up teams that self destruct, but if there's an arm wrestle , we will lose 10/10.

Season may not be over but if history is a guide, then it doesn't look promising.

I said it in the other thread, but I think we lost before we even ran onto the field. We should have been going out there with an attitude of superiority. We should've looked at the Dragons and thought right, let's take it to these guys for 80 minutes. We're the better team, let's show it to them.

But we just accepted mediocrity and the fact it was going to be an ugly scrap between two ugly scrappers before a ball was kicked! There wasn't one thing about our preparation, pre-game talk, performance, or comments by the players and coaching staff after the loss that indicate anything other than us basically preparing to play a game just like that and hope for a close win not a close loss.

Would Storm, Manly, Souths or Roosters have gone up against the Dragons with that mentality? Of course not. They would've just backed themselves to win, and win well.

A few results in our favour this week-end. It wouldn't surprised me if the team bounces back next week. Also wouldn't surprise me if the same team was picked. Roberts really needs to start to put in big time I think Wayne has given him a fair crack, his just not making the grade Mullen is carrying the team. Why we didn't buy a decent number 7 years ago beats me. We now have that much money locked up in positions we already had, Example: fullbacks.

Before a ball was kicked this season I thought that the Knights were a huge chance of scraping into 8th spot this year. Then all doubt sunk in after round 6 against da Panfa's where they tried so desperately hard to lose the game and ended up winning only because Da Panfa's did not turn up to play either.
So now yes I have well and truly given up on them for 2013 and even if they did make the top 8 they would have no chance of getting past week 1 of a final series so what does it matter if they finish 15th or 16th really.
So what is the solution ? hang in there Knights players and coaching staff and I am sure there will be better times ahead.
So this weekend - On paper and form, the Storm will mop the floor with us but stranger things have happened. Remember that Canberra pulled off the upset of the decade against the storm a few weeks back !

A couple of good results this week. We're only one win outta the eight and we have a solid for and against. We play well the next couple of weeks and we can be back up to 6th.

Exactly! We are by no means out of it yet.

In 2 weeks time we could very well be back in the top 6.

Lose the next 2 however and then by all means call the season over.

We're looking at a very possible 8 points in the next month, beat the Titans and we're in the 8, beat the Dogs and we're in the 6, then we have the bye, beat the Panthers and we're back to pushing for a top 4 finish and at worst we'll only have to win 50-60% of our remaining games to make the finals. By no means is our season done but as Jono said, if we don't at least win 1 of our next 2 - it's a wrap for 2013.

If we play like we did against the Storm against the Tits, Dogs and Penrith we'll win all 3 easily. If we play like we did against the Dragons we'll obviously lose. What worries me about the Titans and Dogs games is that we've already flogged both of them. That will make them more determined to beat us. At least we're at home against the Titans and given the Dogs game is in Mackay that takes away their home ground advantage.

It's strange the Dogs are taking our game to Mackay. Surely any of the three Qld teams would draw a decent crowd compared to us. I guess they'll still run out but it seems like a strange decision

Despite dropping out of the 8 I agree our F/A is a big bonus and may come into play at the pointy end if we keep it up and win much more than we lose from here on in. I'm predicting we will scrape into the 8 but only just. 7 or maybe 6 the highest.
After that it becomes a different game.

We're 2 points from 5th place and 3 from 4th. We're also 4 points from last so it's pretty tight. One thing is for certain. Season ain't over.

We're very capable of making the top 4. That might be false hope off the back of a terrible Titans and horrible weather so next week is the better indicator of how far we can possibly go.

Today was a perfect example of our strong our defense can be and how lucky we are to have a quality hooker and a quality utility in Gower on the bench. Really, our forwards off the bench is only an issue when Wayne doesn't select the right people (Due to whatever reasons, injury, discipline etc) and perhaps if Darius pulls his finger out.

We really do have the potential to make the top 4 with the side we have.

It was an impressive first half. I'll hold off on buying GF tickets until I see us play a whole game of quality footy.
