Honestly what is it these days with all these self entitled people in the world, honestly there are bigger things going on this world that not getting your own way and getting Olympic coins so then taking it out on the poor check out person. Honestly the poor check out people have to put up with so much unwarranted crap when they are only trying to do their job. There was a fracas at Woolworths the other day where the man demanded change in the $2 Olympic coins.
And the girl said no and the supervisors was called and backed
And he raised his voice and wanted to return the yoghurt but then the staff refused to accept it because he was rude.
He looked at me for support but I brushed him.
So he yelled and left the yoghurt on the service counter in an aggressive way and they all smiled the retail smile and wished him a nice day.
I’m glad I’m no longer a check out chick @horrie hastings
If he was nicer, they might have helped him get one or two if they were in the tray. But he stood over them.
Yeah, it’s about how you approach and I think you should always respect people at work.Honestly what is it these days with all these self entitled people in the world, honestly there are bigger things going on this world that not getting your own way and getting Olympic coins so then taking it out on the poor check out person. I have had some customers asked me whether we had any of the Olympic coins when i'm giving them change and i am happy to give it to them because they have asked politely and also treated me with respect if we haven't had any in the till. I would have just thrown that troubled Woolworths customer out of my shop if he tried that on me.
Common fault.I find when I go to a manned checkout they don't like putting my cashews through as soy crisps.
They still do it. Over the website ordersI'm not old enough to remember- was there this level of apoplectic, indignant rage when service stations started making people fill their own petrol tanks?
Things change. A hundred years ago, customers in stores didn't even take items off the shelves themselves. You went in, waited until a clerk was available and gave them a list of what you wanted to buy. The clerk then went around the store and collected it all for you. You can walk into one of the large discount department stores these days and buy a plain t-shirt for $3. How do you think that is possible? That's right...sweatshopsself-service!
By the way, I don't see any of the "we-should-get-a-discount-because-we-are-serving-ourselves" brigade volunteering to pay extra when they place an online click-and-collect order because they are making a staff member do all their shopping for them.
I've never been in a Woolworths that didn't have any cash self-serve registers.
Then you realise they have delivered the wrong items hours after the fact. They still do it. Over the website orders
They deliver to your door
Don't even have to talk to anyone
Or even get out of bed
Woolworths has earn and return self checkoutsNeither have i, seems only Coles do it.
I've seen orders. About 10 bag's Of groceriesThen you realise they have delivered the wrong items hours after the fact.
And is this only if you are a Woolworths member ?Woolworths has earn and return self checkouts
Where cash gets automatically paid out
Like an ATM
No. Just a normal customerAnd is this only if you are a Woolworths member ?
