Shameful day for Australian league

I've got no doubts this loss can be blamed on Chris Anderson. I've also got massive doubts that he'll even coach in Australia again after this year. That team was pathetic. The attacking options were appalling considering the wraps on the likes of Lockyer and Kimmorley. There's no point picking DeVere if he's not going to be kicker and for the game's "Hard Man", Shane Webcke sure is a softcock.

The problem isn't really the squad, there's always a couple of people selected that people will say doesn't deserve it, and New Zealand had injury problems just as big as ours. The problem is Anderson's game plan sucked. Gower is an International player wasted on the bench. Phil Bailey is not the guy that should be playing the dead rubbers on these tours.

Exactly how many playmakers does he need on a soggy pitch? Why is he replacing the decent one (Buderus) when the big men needed rotating? The flat game does NOT work anymore, Anderson. You should've given it away after the heart troubles and be remembered as a coach who had his career cut short.

I think you are being a tad to harsh Australia wasn't to bad it was just a highly spirited New Zealand.

anderson is just plain dumb.
he picks Kimmorley at starting half back over craig gower who was the best player all year and who was in the grand final winning team. No its not rocket science that gower should be starting not his bf Kimmorley

but all in all it was a top match and congrats to the nz team great job.

at least we didn't put a criket score up like union is doing

That softcock Webcke was one of the best Australians on the field. He really got the offload working today and caused a hell of a lot of hassles for New Zealand, particularly early on. He also scored your only second half try.

The only reason Webcke manages the offload so easily is because he stops before he hits the defensive line to give himself time to spin. Its not what a forward should be doing. An offload should only come about if a defender falls off you or fails to wrap up the ball after you've hit the line.

A few of his offloads came that way DMC but it was obviously the Aussies came in with the plan to get some offloads away as Webcke isn't a natural offloader of the ball, much more of a hit-up, yards man.

What about annother token selection, Willie Mason.

He was away in the clear and suddenly dropped the bloody ball. Typical, I hope he never gets selected again.

As for the whole Ando and Kimmorley love child routine, it doesn't help and is giving a style of football today that this team couldn't handle

The main problem I have with Webcke is he isn't as "hard" as people make out. He's lucky to hit the line at full speed half the time. Not that his defence wasn't up to scratch today.

Yeah, Willie Mason needs to hit the line that hard all the time. Not only was the dropped ball bad, but he ran away from support and held the ball away from his body when there was no-one around him.

On no Shane Webcke isn't hard, he only played a Grand Final with a broken arm  .

That's fantastic, Sal. Tell me, how'd he win the "hard man" award over Villisanti when the hit of the year was given to Villisanti's tackle on Webcke left the softcock struggling to get to his feet?

Maybe its just travelling to New Zealand that scares the bejesus out of him? Remember Campion laying him out? No? How about when he pulled out of an Ashes series because terrorists might get him.

 What a brave soul!

Well, I'm glad New Zealand won- as it gives a little more credibility to the game internationally- even if it's only one game.

I thought the Aussies had no passion whatsoever. Lockyer was poor throughout, and Kimmorley was absolutely awful. Even my Knights weren't at their best- Simpson went AWOL, and whilst Buderus was good, he went off too early.

Wing in five eighth was stupid, he didn't provide any options. On the flip side, Vagana was surprisingly good at five eighth, and Tomas Leullai completely outplayed Kimmo.

Congrats to NZ. See you next year.

Sorry I couldn't bring myself to read the rest of your post when I learnt that you actually take the Footy Show Awards serious  .

I think people here are being to hard on Darren Lockyer i thought he was steady, amongst a team that was getting belted all over.

remeber NZ had no kicking game either, the short In-goals were a masterstroke.

We should've had a massive kicking game. Lockyer, Kimmorley, Gower, Wing and even Buderus out of dummy half can kick. I thought Lockyer's passing game was shit today. Especially on his favoured left hand.

By the way, Villisanti's tackle on Webcke had Webcke struggling to get to his feet not because he is a softcock, but because he was headbutted in the tackle (hence the busted lip and concussion), not unlike when Villisanti headbutted Fittler in last year's grand final.
Get your facts straight before calling a great player a softcock.

Headbutt? Head clash more like it. Nothing wrong with that at all, mate. If we're going to get facts straight, lets not make stuff up, OK?
