I have now reached the stage of having to say that following the Dragons and the dramas we have had for more than 10 years has now taken its toll on me. Ever since we won the premiership in 2010, us fans have taken a hell of a lot of "emotional strain" from poor to average performances in most of the the years since then. These performances together with poor overall coaching and recruitment is resulting in the growing apathy towards our club.

We are now being compared to the Wests Tigers. I have several mates who have followed the Tigers for as long as I have been following the Dragons and they have lost a lot of interest in watching games and talking about their club and just shake their heads.

We as fans have been giving so many views and information on a host of topics over years and years positively and negatively on this Forum. All trying to come up with reasons, solutions and possible outcomes and now to me everything seems an impossibility for the club to become a powerhouse with the current situation. I can see that it will be taking a very long time for the club to be anywhere near a powerhouse and in the meantime we will continue to put up with and complain about all the wrongs going on.

Shane Flanagan, Anthony Griffin, Craig Young, The BOD, Players, Management all in the too hard basket for me.

Please wake me up when it is all over.
Sorry old mate your going to be asleep for a long time before it's over , and might never be until the people running the joint , saying it in a nice way pass on ......

According to one media report there has been contact made between the Manly club and his agent - only . No one has spoken to Flanagan themselves about this so called assistant job .

Apparently the agent has said that he has a guarantee contract with the Dragons plus his radio live call ( I do not know which station) gig .

Added to this is that he lives in the Sutherland district so the travelling between there to the Northern suburbs would be quite a headache .

Perhaps the reports floating around are nothing more than sea gull shat thought up by the journos who are having a wonderful time at the moment tearing our club apart ?

Flano told Mark Levy on 2gb that he had spoken to Seibold about an assistant coaching role. He also said that he was happy with his job at the Dragons, Fox and WWOS. He didn't rule out going though

I had not heard that mighty dragon, however at least that has a basis of truth about it , unlike the many other stories about the man doing the rounds on here at present .

Its simple
Albert wants - and will have Dean as the head coach.
He doesn't care - as long as he looks after No 1 (family)
but - we've been through this before with the Young's
We should know better!
You are correct however, I hope that recent events will see C Young step down and no longer have such influence over Board decisions. He may get Peter Doust to champion his backroom deal but I feel confident that either Flannagan or Hasler will be our next head coach; sooner rather than later.

Another story coming out that Flanagan will be at the Sea Eagles pending a release from his Dragons contract in the next 24 hours to be an assistant coach under Seibold with Dymock to be the other at Manly. He will have an out clause that if he is offered a head coaches job after 12months, he can leave Manly.

Goodbye Shane, thanks for zilch!

100% right Dave, I'm still at a loss to know what this guy has done for the Dragons in any role he has been in. And the most bizarre thing is the Dragons didnt want him for the AC role again or HC. Just bewildering.

He barely struck a blow in recruitment and our defence has been ordinary for years. Is it a ploy to set Hook up for failure so that he can claim his job??

Well it didn't work because he is now on his way, there could have been so much done but instead it obviously wasnt Club first, Team first it was me first !!!

Dragons did want him in the HC role but were blocked by the NRL and then got Hook. He was their second choice and only had to wait 12 months for Flanno to be reinstated. Saints then extended Hook when they could have easily waited 12 months ofr his contract to end and chose between Hook and Flanno but instead went for Hook. Not sure why their interest cooled on Flanno and they kept him at the club. They are a strange mob this so called BOD running the club.

I think Flanno will go and why not. He would have been good but looks like If Hook does go they will go with a rookie. They can now guarantee Deano a job as Flanno will be tied up. Ball is falling nicely in his court. Teams are getting grand final coaches as assistants (Madge & Flanno) and Saints picked up Neville nobody's as assistants for 2023. They can't even get that right. Oh well, some teams actually want to win a comp Saints are not one of them. This once proud club with all it's success is now happy just to be part of the comp rather than winning it. How sad.
