*In light of Coote being offside anyway and Luke Lewis being run off the ball with no penalty,
I haven't heard the footage but he claimed that the Touch judge shouted " Coote is offside".

If indeed this is true, it should not have been a penalty, let alone a sin bin as Coote should have been penalised for being offside. So in that case it is the wrong decision. When you marry it up with Lewis getting clobbered on kick chase with no penalty the inconsistency becomes clear.

Coote was even remotely offside. And Flanno also claimed that Holmes had caught the ball before Maloney grabbed Lowe. Also a lie.

I think we could cut the majority of the drama out of the game if we could get the stripping or loose carry call consistent. Players so clearly rake it out it's getting ridiculous.

Try holding onto the ball when you've got one player purely trying to rip it out and wrestle you while two other guys are busy wrapping up your legs and torso, all the while trying to make forward meters and/or go to ground to play the ball.

That's beside the point. He is claiming the touchie was shouting COOTE OFFSIDE!
If this is indeed true (and I have no way to verify as I was at the ground) then Coote shoulda been penalised. Maloney doesn't end up in the sin bin.

If the report is true that the touch judge said this and Coote was indeed onside as you have outlined it's just further proof that the refs are off their heads.

Barrett and flanno need a reality check. Hope the nrl fine them. They are the opittimy of sore losers. I'm glad a few people have come out and slammed them. Nearly every controversial decisions was correct. And the ones that weren't were a 50/50 grey call that could of gone either way. The ref bashing has to stop. The coaches better becareful what they wish for with regards to wanting the ref to explain decisions to there players in the sheds. Some cold hard facts would be hard for them to take. The ref could pull apart how horrible cronulla and manly played. The refs decisions were right. If they don't like the decision don't blame the refs. Blame the game committee for the rule. I hope this media storm puts the coaches on edge and they start to look at the team instead of blaming someone else. As well as the commentators the coaches have no regard on how this makes the game look. This isn't the first time the refs have been bagged for making the correct decision. A lot of decisions within a game are 50/50. The commentators need to accept that and not say the decision is wrong because it's 50/50. How can a ref get a 50/50 call wrong?? Because Gould has a vested interest in who plays in the finals or who gets suspended. I really hope nrl pulls these idiots into line. Because the way they carry on affects the media storm that happens next.

Why aren't we talking about the 4 close, exciting games that were played over the weekend??

I'm glad you put that paragraph in.
I probably couldn't have read it otherwise.

NRL should organise a special game between Manly & the Sharks. Call it the Crybaby Cup. This is the trophy.

Besides the point? Its the whole unadulterated point. Obviously you haven't read the OP of this very thread and seen the photograph.

Aslo how is it that you believe that Flanno is so infallible that its not possible for him to be either lying or just plain wrong?

Most people can understand that your team would be annoyed by some decisions not falling your way. That's fair enough. I get the same way with my team. 50/50 calls are exactly that, could go either way. To be pissed and rage against the refs for that, is immature and unsportsmanlike like. It's fine to be pissed but coaches and more so commentators should realize the decisions are open to interpretation and there job isn't to be a ref but to commentate on the game.

flanno checked with bc to confirm what he could say. to be fair he was stating what he believed in the heat of battle. he would have been seriously upset & so be it. i'm sure he has enough nous as a coach to dissect that game from a proper coaching perspective when he adjusts to the result. it's his key players that lost the game - not the refs.

totally agree.
