Every game there are calls that could go either way.

The sharks didn't earn the right to any of them. They played poorly. Missed tackles, poor handling, dumb options.

If Gallen had of taken the tackle 5 metres out, or Fifita runs straight instead of sideways at the end, we probably don't have this thread.

I think the tackle is complete. But it was a tackle that involved the players wrapping the ball to stop gallen scoring. There's always some leniency given to the time they release in this situation.

Honestly? It looks like he has just tried for the hero play when in hindsight he should have made sure he got to the right point and a quick play the ball.

He then tried to milk a penalty, but probably because of his years of trying to do this, and his reputation for it, the 50/50 went against him.

However part of what he said (which I can find a source for) which sums it up very well -

Regarding the sin bin it was the correct decision but i can understand sharks fans being annoyed because its rarely enforced.

Bj Leilua deliberately run a player off the ball last week in the ancient days of raiders still playing and the ref just gave a penalty.

Next year there has to be an effort to rub out these deliberate penalties inside the 20m and a way of doing this is with sin bins. Im not going to point fingers of who started it cough roosters cough but all teams do it now and it must be dealt with. Its in my eyes hurting the game
