Fullback in NRL is not park football.

If it were that simple, Aku would be a great NRL fullback already.

Can you even imagine him adjusting the defence line because A defender on the negative was tangled in the ruck and did not make the line?

A split second decision to adjust numbers in the line based on where the attacking side has numbers and play makers.

Drag A on the positive? Split the markers? Change the spacing on the negative? Change the sapcing on the positive? Where is Slater? Who is at dummy half? Is it a back rower or prop who is out of the line?

Arrrrrgh, it hurts my head and I am not fatigued and worried about kicks and what play it is........

Pika, some of the less league educated seem to think football is all about attack, attack, attack - and they forget about the other facets as well.

Too often fans on here focus on attack and forget the defensive liabilities certain players can be to a football team. It's one reason I can live with Rogers being in the team and not an undersized alternative with poor defense.

Uate at fullback would be a defensive disaster.

The fullback is the key to a good defensive line, and is constantly shouting instructions and telling players where to set in the line.

As if Uate would be able to do that at this stage of his career when he can't even read his own defensive responsibilities on the wing.

You've said some pretty out there things before Roopy, but this is about as out there as it gets.

some dickheads like karma never miss a chance to take a cheap shot - but that doesn't mean taking a cheap shot makes a good poster - just like every fullback doesn't have to be 'the guy' in defence.

Cheap shot?

No Roopy, I was just pointing out that you clearly have no effing idea about what a fullback does, because yes, they do have to be THE GUY in defence. Who else is back there with that view to see things unfold for the rest of the team?

Since when is it a cheap shot to point out something that's as obvious as dogs balls?

Being a bit precious arn't you roops

Karma is spot on, Uate would be fantastic on kick returns (when he's not running sideways) but fullbacks call the shots in defence and Aku would not be up to that.

I agree with Karma on this one. I'd like to see uate get his defence efforts up before going to fullback. Plus as was said, he needs to point players into their correct position in the defencive line. I dont think he'd be up to that aspect either. I can see him being like minichiello, starting off his career on the wing and then later moving to fullback

I'm guessing this is mainly in relation to this:

And my reply to that is: you know what I'm going to say, so I'm not going to bother saying it (for the 50,000th time on here). But roopy definitely put it very well and very bluntly!

Serc you're my favourite dweeb on here, so all is forgiven for being a pest. ;-)

I'm with Roops on this one, I mean he might acutally be natrually born to play fullback. Look at Slater makes 34 mistakes a game but score just as many spectacluar tries noone seems to mind. Mini was also a terrible winger but has NSW seen a better fullback?

Uate is a natural fullback.
He is better at fullback than wing - easily.
He could become one of, if not the greatest kick returner in the game's history. Always looking for space and has straightened his runs incredibly in the last 6 weeks or so. When he busts the line consistently he will be gone for all to chase down. Uate could also flop bigtime at fullback. The curse of being so incredibly gifted but a bit lazy around the edges. What I refer to as the Chris Walker curse. Not that Aku is anything like Walker as a person.

If Aku does not get his support positioning right tonight on McDonnells kick returns he will get smashed.

McDonnell is not the athlete Gids is.
