when aku wants a 4 year deal, he gets serious....

I noticed that he was running a lot straighter today, less crabbing across the field...maybe he was a little weighted to one side but after he got serious it was more evenly weighted and thus a lot straighter running:shock:

You are a complete joke. There is nothing good about your contribution to this forum because you overplay your hand with your agenda driven rubbish that equates to nothing more then spam in the general scheme of things.

Despite what some may say, you have nothing to offer as a poster because you have had enough time to tone down your agendas on certain topics so that free flowing discussion can happen, yet you continue to hijack threads with your garbage.

You are perfectly entitled to your opinion, but when you just shove it down our throats with rants that go around in circles and only come up when they are convienient for yourself then it grows tiresome.

My honest opinion is that you beguile many of us out of enjoying this forum because your agenda driven rubbish is everywhere. There is no bigotry against you, the backlash is very well deserved.

The thing is i agree with a lot of what you say, but you are a complete asshole.

Sign up at the Tele, they give work to hacks like you.
Ok, my two cents worth.

Karma, regardless of what you may think, I don't actually dislike you. I do, however, dislike the fact you force your opinion upon each and every one of us like its Gospel. And if we dare disagree with you and call you out, its like we've got an agenda against you, when in fact, we're just sick and tired of the repetitive crap you keep dishing up week after week.

A forum is a place for discussion, and we're not going to agree on everything, that's one of the good points of a forum, however, there is a line that needs to be taken into consideration for each and every one of us. I'm not too sure you know where said line is.

Lol starting to feel sorry for the bloke but he asked for it I guess.

This is like another version of the forum's 'Survivor' series that we use to have all those years ago only that it's actually serious.

The 'Forum' really has spoken.

Based on what? An error free 25-30 minutes?

He got himself knocked out because he can't tackle properly.

Is this the new standard expected by first grade footballers?

Bloody hell karma..................your crystal ball told you that if he lasted the FULL GAME then he would make mistake after mistake for the rest of the game did it ???. ... :sarcasm:

Even you admitted he had an ERROR FREE 25-30 mins, god i wish i had your crystal ball oh wise one.

The other players who came here off the scrapheap from other clubs weren't a laughing stock amongst their fans like McDonnell was at the Tigers...

There was a good reason for that, and it wasn't just because you might think ' all Tigers fans are whingers '

I can recall two players, both of whom were utter garbage at their former clubs, one of which was so hated by warren ryan he would go so far as to joke about his ability in public. Both of those players came to newcastle and both became internationals. I am talking about Jamie Ainscough and Adam MacDougall.

I am willing to give Macdonnell a go if the coach, who is a lot better than me at picking talent reckons he's worth a go.

Just read through the thread and have to say Karma you have excelled yourself. You would do well to heed some advice in this thread. Do you recall Johns Magic getting into me about my rants last year re some of our forwards? There were some home truths in that, you found it very amusing I recall, difference is I took notice you don't. You've spent virtually all your time on this forum putting players/ the management/the stadium, and anyone else conected with the Knights down. Someone said in this thread that you seem to be waiting for us to fail so you can claim your nostradamis (spelling) like predictions are true. Like it or not Karma McDonell went well for the time he was on the ground. Sure he got knocked out, so what? that happens in this game. You wrote in another thread that
Karmawave said:
I'm salivating at the prospect of grand entertainment that could come from watching Con Mika, Maverick Supersub and Junior Burger McDonnell all playing in the same team together...
Typical cynical comment from you. Seems you had McDonell, and Mika lined up as your next whipping boys, we all know Dureau has already made it there.
My advice (not that I think you'd take it) is take on board what's been said in this thread, because beleive it or not nobody will really care if you post here or not, and at the moment I'd bet most will be hoping you don't. Then again there's always the Tigers hey??

Wow

I always thought a thread like this would eventuate (I actually thought it would have came sooner) but I did not expect some of the posts I have read here to contain so much venom although it could hardly be argued against given the crap Karmawave carries on with.

i thought he played well while he was on
and showed some impressive signs
so until he makes those stupid mistakes he's supposedly known for
then im willing to wait and give him the benefit of the doubt

McDonnell has overachieved, but done a great job for the Knights.

When you know that when you overachieve and you only reach its peak at a SOLID MEDIOCRE level, you've got problems.

At the same time, anyone watching the Tigers play right now will realise why they let him go.

Shannon Gallant showed more talent in setting up the John Morris try today than McDonnell ever has ( or will ) in first grade.

The sad way that Knights fans settle for mediocrity is amusing.

Was the mid 2000's that bad for our club, that we get excited over a player not making a mistake and not doing anything spectacular?

Personally, I loved the McDonnell " sidestep " when he scored the other evening. We should all take sometime to watch it again. ;-)

Having said all of that, he has done a better job than I would ever think he had capable.

A couple of questions Karma:

Are we paying next to fug all to have McDonnell for the season?

Did he try his guts out on Fri night?

Did he do his job as expected?

Did he perform like a solid FGer?

Did he have an error riddled game?

Have I already said many times recently he is doing a good job, better than what alot of us expected?

What do you want from me dude? To lay out the red carpet for a fullback that wouldn't play first grade in any other team in the NRL?

What amazes me, you guys get all excited because Brian Smith pulled a bloke off the scrap heap, and has turned him into a solid first grader on peanuts. Sure he deserves kudos for it. McDonnell has done very well.

But what about when we discuss Luke Walsh? How we are left running out a half fit Scott Dureau because we have no reserve halves to run out? How Luke Walsh was already paid out for more than half his contract by the Knights before he left the club. How that same Luke Walsh has played more first grade than Dureau this year. How Walsh's team is actually ahead of us on the ladder as it stands.

We might have paid peanuts for McDonnell, and thats great for his return. We couldn't offer him anything because we had paid over half Walsh's 2009 contract!!!

Who is accountable for that? Brian Smith or someone else?

Put everything in perspective for gods sake.

Considering everyone was slipping all over the place, he did will to commit the fullback to the sideline, then he managed to slow up and go under the posts. It wasnt pretty, and I dont even know if it was planned, but it was a very clever piece of footy.

Pay peanuts and you get monkeys. I always thought Sharron was geniused, but perhaps he is a primate.

From an objective perspective, does anyone know how the Knights' win-loss ratio compares with and without Sharron in the team? I would suggest very unfavourably.

No mate, the point I was going to make was that he was doing well given his supposed lack of talent and if you had answered "yes" to all of the questions I had asked then you would have just about described the early years of Kurt Gidley.

FTR champ I was not having a dig at you, just trying to point out that a players past does not necessarily reflect their future and playing under the coaching sytem at the Tigers is a big enough handicap for any player to have to overcome.

He wont be here next year but I wouldnt be surprised if he ends up wearing a red, white and blue jersey though and possibly sees plenty of FG footy.

Pretty sure everyone is on the same page, seems we're satisfied with McDonnell's performances in his time here.

Shame he came with a reputation that he won't escape. On this board he's either overachieving or fulfilling low expectations - don't think anyone is rating him as particularly special, but it might appear that way to someone who is deathriding him.

McDonnell is pretty much a catalyst for bickering, apparently.
