So the Sharks are in a hole of $13 million now??? Has the bank given them until mid next year to pay back a large slice of that??? What happens if the don't, will the bank extend the deadline, receivers appointed or do they foreclose?

Interesting video on the topic.

Capsis is deluded. His main issues are

- "Traffic Chaos". The one expert report on this claims the direct opposite.
- "It wont save the Sharks anyway". Ummmmm, 10mill upfront, retail income, residential income and a huge increase in foot traffic through the club. What is he basing this on?
- His solution? "A resort thingy". Make it stop. It hurts.
Hahaha resort thingy.

I like the selling point. "you have a walkway to the water". Yeah great - have a nice resort stay down the shire and wallow in the mangroves. FMD.

Oh and coupes..... I suppose the "resort thingy" will be immune to floods....

Seriously George. Deputy Mayor of Sutherland Shire Council and that was just embarrassing mate. Sharks wont survive with the development, so build a resort "how do i say this", a resort thing.
I agree, it is on the way to Kurnell, but who the f**k will visit a resort built next to a path to the mangroves, just to go look at Kurnell? Seriously deluded.

Oh and some others have pointed out... it floods, it floods!! so now drown visitors to the shire instead. FMD

yes

Has the bank given them until mid next year to pay back a large slice of that???

yes. should teh development be approved we get 10 million cash injection that we can pay off the majority of the debt with.

What happens if the don't, will the bank extend the deadline, receivers appointed or do they foreclose?

guess that down to the bank and irvines negotiation skills.

what would happen if thy did foreclose would tbe this IMO. the club plays on the season, however likely has to play at the sfs as they no longer hold any assetts as the leagues club owns th land and the debt.

from here...f**k knows

Very important to note that the debt is held by the Leagues Club and not the Football Club.

If the development is passed through the 3A process, the developers will forward a sum of approx. $10 million to the Sharks, which will immediately ease the debt burden and allow them to service the much smaller debt levels until they're all cleared.

If the development doesn't pass through the 3A process, then any of those things mentioned could happen to the Leagues Club, which owns the land. The Football Club, which currently runs at profit (albeit only as a result of a shoestring budget) won't kick it in. But one could imagine that the future would be grim because we'd very probably lose our home ground to the bank.

correct dread

and the local residents who oppose this development will get what they wanted.

oh providing what they wanted was complete loss of the amenities they are whining about losing, the loss of a local club to entertain them, the loss of potential local shops far less congested as the other options and the potential for the new land owners to drop a dirty great big distribution centre with 24 hour truck access (just one of the juicy options).... but hey... each to their own.
