I think nobody should doubt his skill and talent... however many of us are critical with his out-dated style of play that is reminiscent of the late nineties...

On form, Noddy's Kicking, Vision, Enthusiasm and Defence are second to none but Johns... he just doesn't allow himself to produce it.

Yeah I agree he hasn't been allowed to produce but that is not totally his fault. I dont believe that our problem is attack, we have scored points to win matches. We just seem to lose it in defence and BK can't be totally responsible for that

I know I may be in the minority but I am a big fan of Kimmorley. He is a great halfback with great vision. I will say that he is struggling a little at the moment, actually since the bad pass in Origin, but he has a sensational kicking game and I believe that he can defend when it is called for.
You are actually in the majority theres just a certain few that want to bring Noddy into everything and bring him down. Go ahead and have your say but be prepared to be rubbished by btr and his loyal followers.

Well on occasions he selfishly chose to play through injury but only ended up hindering us in his pursuit to seem "tough"...

He's also been guilty of self-propagating in the media but without the results...

As good a player as Noddy is/could be/should be, he's shot himself in the foot too often and put the club at a loss for it...

There were times where we have lost due to poor discipline... and as captain Noddy should've been the one rectifying it, and instead was contributing to it...

Noddy has to adjust his game for the team and not vice-versa...

Hopefully a good run, beginning with last night's win, will ensure this happens...

That side last night plus a FULLY FIT Noddy who is willing to adjust his style is a top 4 contender... I have no doubts...

If I was you I'd have emphasised "willing" instead of "fully fit"

It's a tough situation to be in. We've broken the Cows undefeated streak without Kimmorley and have looked our best all season in doing so. Dykes with full control of the team gets so much more out of our forwards than Kimmorley will ever be able to. Kearney is talent in a bottle, he just needs to find a way to get involved. Once he forms a better combination with Dykes I think we'll see a whole lot more out of him, unfortunately (and we all know it) as soon as the Dykes/Kearney combo starts looking as strong as we know it can be Kimmorley will waltz straight into the line up and take control.

Can anybody honestly see Kimmorley playing in Premier League? Raper doesn't have the guts to do it...on that note, I don't think there are many coaches in the league that would have the guts to stick Kimmorley in Premier League.

I think it would be interesting to see how Noddy would react to coming back in Premier League.

It's funny that our highest paid player and club captain coming back from injury looks like being the most damaging incident that may occur over the season.

Honestly MS, he wouldn't be 22nd.

These 2 both com from the knights and have a history.
BK and his brother Craig had to leave the Knights because the Johns boys were the next big things and hit first grade before the Kimmorelys, who went to the Mariners when Super League started.

I think Bk has always felt he has been hard done by and a rivallry akin to Warne and Macgill exists. For a while there, and not that long ago, Bk was Johns' equal - if not superior. But then Johns went to another level and the raps started and I think it has really affected Bk's psyche.
A bit phylosophical I know, but I have followed both thier careers rather closely as I am a former novocastrian.

I have a soft spot for BK and appreciate his talent.
BUT...nobody has a god-given right to a spot - especially on performances from 3 years ago or more. And unfortunately we are not developing as a competitive force with BK at number 7.

Troy did u not notice the difference in the way our forwards played?
Wider, deeper & with confidence to have a crack offensively at the opposition!
A pass that split second earlier can be so important to some footballers.
I believe that to be the case with our forwards.
Dykes touched the ball prbably 40 times last night & ran or kicked on max 15 occassions.
the rest was ball to the cnetres or forwards
WHO WERE HAPPIER WITH THE SERVICE.

All of the best football judges that I know tend to think otherwise. The only people that I know that still believe in the Kimmorley Bunny are under 15 years old or have little footballing background as a player/coach.

Obviously, it's only a small sample of people, but the people I have the most respect for are aware that the modern day Brett Kimmorley is as much of a myth as David Simmons.

I'd love to see Kimmorley prove all of us that feel this way wrong, I really do, but I've been waiting since 2003 for that without results. He just doesn't have the consistency, team skills or temperament to be a successful halfback in the modern game. There's a common saying among leadership circles that good leaders must lead from behind, meaning they have to be working WITH their team mates. Kimmorley doesn't do this. He runs out the front of the pack and expects everyone else to come with him and play the way he wants to play. For as long as Kimmorley is stubborn with his playing style, we won't succeed as a team with him in it as a leader or otherwise.

Just because i disagree with you more often than not doesnt mean i am someone else. Do you really think that only 1 person disagrees with you? Any one who has a differing opinion must be spud.

The problem for Kimmorley is that it is easier for him to change how he plays to adapt to the team, but more often or not it is the other way around and as a result the whole team suffers.

I understand where you're coming from here tye. There is a trend on this forum that only sees your opinions validated if they agree with the opinions of a small group of people. It's not cool to be supportive of the board/coaching staff/select players (namely Simmons, Bird and Kimmorley.)

However, this forum is for discussion. If you're copping sh*t for having a different opinion, blow it off and don't let it change your beliefs. Discussions on any topic often end up in insults when you can't change the opinions of those opposite you.

Fight the good fight.

Honestly Troy, if I was on crack do you think I'd be here discussing Brett Kimmorely.

That highlighted statement of yours...
You're entitled to your opinion, but boy, I wouldn't like to take to court as evidence.

inferno hit it on the head every one has to adapt to noddy's playing style and the players suffer. It would be better if noddy played to others styles play deeper it will give him more time and last night it worked for dykes. kimmorley is a class player but needs to play a different brand of footy. Instead of putting a short pass to a second rower who will get drilled put in bum balls and pass cut out balls. take advantage of our strengths albet speed, vags incredible finisher he needs to use them and we need to play smarter have a crack at 40/20's on a 20m restart drop kick for the line to get an attacking set going.

Kimmorleys been needing to change his style since he got here times have changed since Melbourne and to be honest we have looked a lot more like we are going to score points in both games with out him. I think if he actually did change his style he may recapture his best. I mean why not try it it can't be any worse then how we were playing with him at the start of the year. Hopefully if we can bag a few wins he might open his eyes and realsie times have changed. I do believe he can still be a class player he just has to realise times have changed

i admit he needs to pass a little earlier and deeper but to say he has a bad attitude or is not a leader is IMO wrong ... Our 2 best players right now again IMO Ross and Lance said when hey started "the chance to play behind BK is exciting" and Lance said "Noddy is a born leader" ..... I don't think he's perfect but i do think he's good for us or if he can adjust a few things can be great for us..... IMO of course ....

noddys prob is that he plays at the line far too much..i argree with frenzy the team looked much better deeper and running on to the ball and able to use footwork..the fowards and the backs..not too much arguement about kearney he was solid though not spaectacular..i think the relevant point is about the teams performance without noddy...he needs to stop taking the whole team to the line constantly..its outdated bullsh*t football..once or twice in a set is fine but it just doesnt work all the time i cant understand why he persits with it..f**k doesnt he get it..hes a quality footballer but this is the major flaw in his game it hasnt worked for 3 or so years and its holding the team back..with dykes calling the shots we looked sharper running on to the ball..you need footwork and with space i saw some of this...i also thought kinga had a good game..he needs more supprot up the middle..simmo run hard son and support..kingas kicking game was good also with decent options..i also saw some REPEAT sets...as a sharks fan id almost forgotten waht thay were another noddy failing...im not saying piss him off for good but what the hell did ando do this guy to fugg uphis ablilty to change..have we forgotten the soo 1 debacle and i dont mean just the pass..we got samashed cause he played too close to the line all night and if a very good team like that nsw team suffered what do you thik its been doing to our sharks?

Who are these great football judges?
List them.

Where's your research on that statement?
