Sharks/Newtown Divorce ??

2 True Blues

Sorry mate. It just all pissess me off. Does it really matter that much if the Prem/league side play at Henson Park.

The important thing is that the 1st grade side benefits. The same training techniques are in-corportated in both comps by both sides, so transitition is not an issue.

Hardly anyone comes early to watch Prem/league or Flegg anyway. ( saw that yet again today at OKI ). SO most are just spending this time in the club getting tanked etc, and dont REALLY give a flying one. ( I have been coming to Toyota for 6 years to watch the Jets play against the Sharks ) and all you can hear is crickets chirping from the stadium in the first half, so they arent really that keen.

So if its not the difference in training techniques, nor that the MAJORITY who attend the ground miss watching Prem/league ( when the Sharks side used to play against us at Henson there would have been lucky to have been 10 fans there counting the players mums ), what is the REAL reason ?.

Have our best players already been stolen ???

Has the money that was saved at a time when it was needed by the Sharks now been spent on the replacing of stars such as PEACHEY...So the convenience of using a club such as Newtown is no longer required ????

What are the REAL reasons. ??? Was this part of a pre-conceived plan where they can fall back on the ( Give up your games at henson Park routine ) ( A thing they know we will refuse to do ) So they can turn around and blame it on this bullsh*t factor, in order to make out it was the jets refusal to do so that has caused this, When in fact it is all just part of their managements plan ???

Is this part of the reason why certain sectors within tell sectors of the press to call us Newtown-Cronulla to intentionally stir us up??

Is this all just fiction ???? I hope it is cause I was happy with the set up. ?? But am starting to smell a rat or two......

I was hoping that the agreement would stay in place and still do. Myself when I go to the footy I go to watch all games because you then get to see the new breed play (flegg)and the players on the edge of 1st grade ( PL). It's sad to see that not many of the Sharks fans don't go to Henson to watch their PL side, even if they play under the Jets name. I side with you on this 2 true blues.

It seems that the turmoil of the 18th/19th July indeed was correctly reported and seems to have led to the divorce being final.

Black_dot, I never doubted this one.
Not sure why, but it just never sat well.

Even though both teams were doing better.

This is a real shame. I always had a soft spot for Newtown.

I'm assuming this means that we'll revert back to having our own PL side next year?

And if Newtown fans hated seeing 'Newtown Cronulla' or 'Newtown Sharks' in match programs, imagine what happens when they see 'Newtown Easts' or 'Newtown Roosters'.

I fancy Easts to honour the feeder club agreement more than Barry Pierce did this year. Newtown's identity is not for sale. They will be Newtown Jets next year as they were supposed to be every day of this year.

I guess we'll have to wait and see about that.

I have no reason to doubt the Roosters. Only the Broncos could be considered a better administered club in the NRL, if they can be at all.

IT has been reported in the press this morning as being a done deal sideline.

From all reports, we , as a club, acted dismally towards newtown during our deal this year, newtown are fuming at the treatment and the way the deal was terminated sounds highly unproffesional and will do nothing for our popularity. It also does not shine a good light on the board running our club, the kind of attitude they have showed newtown is amazing in its arrogance.

Any detail on what the Sharks did to piss them off ?

There are some who have argued that we were getting nothing from the deal.

I don't know the ins and outs of what may or may not have caused any ill feeling one way or another during the year mate, or what either side liked or dis-liked in the deal.

But the week I posted this, there were reports from newtown of an extremely abrupt method used by the sharks to signal their end of being an amicable partner in this deal.

Farkin hell, can't our club just keep away from trouble. sometimes i wonder if we are the club that everyone looks at and thinks "Geezus, i'm glad i'm not involved with that club"

maybe leaving the Jets alone will be the best thing for both parties

Jeffles, you are no longer required in this forum. I never liked you anyway but for the sake of harmony I didn't make it too obvious.

To those who don't follow the antics of this sour, bitter twisted turd I will present to you a quote from Jeffles in the NRL forum dated 23rd July 2005

I follow Newtown Jets and Newtown Jets only.

Oh, and without a feeder, I don't think Newtown would ever merge.

Feel free to f**k off now Jeffles. :)
