Sharks on the move from Rothfield

Well a lot of people take public transport to the game.

And peak hour will only apply to Thursday and Friday night slots. And shire folk will be travelling in the opposite direction to the peak hour flow.

Drivers are going to have to battle with peak hour traffic in those slots whether they are going to Shark Park, Kogarah or Parramatta. Time to Shark Park and Kogarah would remain similar for a lot of the Shire. Parramatta would blow out even worse.

As I said above, type it in to google. it only takes 3 minutes more to get to Kogarah from Engadine.

The ease of the locality over every other option simply can't be disputed.

Don’t change the argument now
You said “drive “ is 10 mins or less.
Takes longer on a train without traffic.
I even supplied the timetable.

Google 23 mins?
Not when I do that drive every day.
In fact I dont even go as far as Kogarah and it is more than 30 mins.

As for peak hour
Saturday and Sunday can be madness to get around the shire.
So bad that my mate who I sit next to at the footy got him and his wife mopeds just to get around Cronulla on weekends.

I guess if that case it's a wonder you go anywhere.

I don't get how we're even having an argument here.

You say it's 30 minutes to get to where you are going to work near Kogarah. It probably takes about 30 minutes to get to Shark Park as well. So say it's 40 minutes to Kogarah and 30 minutes to Shark Park, that's 10 minutes difference.

Engadine to Shark Park 14.3km
Engadine to Kogarah Oval 17.9km
Engadine to Parrmatta Stadium 44.7km

To be honest Carch, I dont even reckong its about travel. Its about nobody wanting to go there. Mostly, corporates.

Totally
Why would the people I go with want to go to Kogarah ?
They walk to the footy currently.
10 minute casual walk with a beer.
Apparently they are merkins for not wanting to drive or catch public transport to Kogarah.

Well that's what I do now too.

It's a bigger inconvenience for me than for most locations in the shire.

I don't want to go to Kogarah but it is what it is.

Out of all the travel options, Kogarah is by far the easiest. I can take a couple of hours out of my day to go there. Going to Parramatta adds about another 3-4 hours to the overall footy excursion. I'd go to Parramatta for a few but I wouldn't be going there all the time.

Realistically how many that walk now will bother going next year?

Just because you think they should doesn’t mean they should.
Why do they have to?
The reason a lot of casual supporters go purely because it is local.

Kogarah is not.
It has no significance what so ever to us.
In fact it will turn people away
Deny it all you like but it’s the truth

...and the Sharks will be under the pump to supply the crowd there,
Which won’t f**king happen .

Taking games on the road to places where there is limited footy will
A) be a great way to connect with prospective new members and sponsors from places that wouldn’t normally have any contact with the club.
And playing in a place like BankWest might actually get a few people to make the effort.
It’s new.

Bloody OKI won’t add any interest at all.

They don't have to. They can do whatever the hell they like. I just think they are probably more likely to go if it is close. I know I am.

I have no problem with them taking some games to engage new fans in new places. But they are going to need some form of home base. It's not practical to have 12 different stadium agreements.

I'll go out to Bankwest to take a look. I can justify going out there once or twice a year. But any more is a REAL punish.

Well it’s 10 at OKI per season according to Rothfield.
He is a merkin but is usually pretty close to the money.

That’s geniused.

This whole thread is a waste of bandwidth

Just a bunch of charnts talking up their own agendas, perceptions and thoughts.

No one is gonna agree and everyone will push their own barrow.

Makes me look forward to the weekly suicide thread

I’m pretty sure this entire forum is a waste of bandwidth.

Will you pick up some type of a serious virus or even ebola like symptoms if you congrugate on that eastern hill area for too long.

I know for a fact that masses have ended up nothing more than brain dead zombies once they have spent time there.

Well I could pay for someone to go for me. I don’t want to pick up Ebola, it’s like Burkina Faso over there. I’m worried about the players going there.
