You can have him.

As slow as a wet week, poor defender and not worth anything like the coin he is on.

With guys like Simona coming through Lawrence is starting to look ordinary. But its ridiculous how much the sharks are poaching you guys. Worse than dragons and raiders

Cronulla even got Steve Noyce this week too.
Tiger retirement village.

Glad he is going. Too many prospects in our ranks

Ill be happy only if we dont end up paying for some of his contract. He has never really gotten over his hip injury.

Lol at cronulla for wanting aysford and lawrence as their centres

I really like Lawrence but we have one too many outside backs at the moment. He would suit the Sharks a lot more than Ayshford will.

I can see him causing havoc out wide off Carney.

Lawrence is slow and probably not worth the coin but he is a very good defender.
It's his change of direction, that's his worst attribute.

Surely we are not going to prop up his contract as well. That would add insult to injury again.

Still on contract at the tigers till 2016 so I reckon there will be some propping.

I reckon he was never allowed to regain full fitness after his hip. Has looked heavy since then. Maybe a chane of scenery and fitness coach might help him.

Drop a few kilos and the sharks have that sprint coach fabri as an employee to. We'll see. Also means the end if the pom. Who will other teams target defensively now.

I don't mind seeing Lawrence leave but ffs...WHO ARE WE BACKING THESE RELEASES UP WITH?

we will now have huge space in the cap yet not introducing new players apart from Richards, Taupau and Halutau.

I am excited at the prospect of Simona and Richards on the left edge. If Siro can get experience in the back row he would also make a great addition to this new attacking formation.

I still think we need to secure a halfback on a 1 year deal just to give Brooks and Moses time.

The sharks have proven, you don't need world class players in your three quarter line or a worlds best halfback/hooker combo to be successful.

You just need good go forward, it makes average players look better.

I'd expect Lawrence and Ayshford to return to some good form at the Sharks.

We need good consistent reliable forwards in defence and Attack.

With that, we can run the risk of young halves much more easily.

This is great news Lawrence has been terrible for 2 seasons due to injury. We can now play Nofo and Simona in the centres. Koro and Taqele/Richard on the wing and now the Leilua signing starts to make some sense.

I am not used to smart player retention/recruitment. We need some quality signings though complete reliance on juniors is madness.

I would not say we are setting up 2014 to be completely reliant on Juniors. The only Juniors who I reckon will be in the starting 17 come game 1 will be Nufo, Teddy, Simona, Sue and possibly Brooks. I wouldn't count BMM and Siro as juniors but they are close.

BrotherJim05, trouble is,
Tim Simona is a Penrith Junior (played for Doonside and finished school at St Pats Blacktown, both in the Penrith JRLFC)

I think Siro (another junior) will start next year purely based on the fact that Potter has stuck with him and his development this year.

You forgot Farah, whilst Canterbury can claim him as a junior, he did finish with Leichhardt Wanderers before playing in the black and gold colours.

Just saying.

Hope it's not true, if he gets his confidence back again he will be a gun. Could be a decision we live to regret.

Good point meant came through our system and cut their teeth with the Tigers. Go back to high school and there are probably 6 schools players came from: Endeavour, St Gregs, Keebra Park, Westfield Sports, Holy Cross Ryde and Erindale College.

I agree, I don't think Chris's form hasn't been too bad - given the shit form/play of our halves.

Some posters on here want everyone gone FFS.

A mate is up on the GC and randomly msg'd me this evening "at the WT function on the GC, Lote and Moltzen here" followed it up half hour later with "Lawrence is signed to end of 2016. Apparently not going anywhere"

Wondered wtf he was talking about, I guess he means this article from triple m.

Whether the truth is being told or not who knows, but clearly that "not going anywhere" was the msg being given to fans by the club tonight.

Lawrence is a funny one, we've watched him come from a kid with pace to burn and defensive issues, worked hard on this and turns himself into international standard, only to have a freak injury seemingly steal that pace he had. You watch on Monday night that breakaway he has up the railway side of the ground, and gets run down. 4 years ago would have burnt off nearly anyone in the comp. Whether you be happy to see Chris leave is a head scratcher, so much respect for him but is he still first grade standard?

Or am I judging him too harshly based on what he was going to be pre-hip injury? & just because he's no longer going to be a superstar, doesn't mean he isn't up to first grade?
