If I set fire to Shark Park, could I sue the Shire council if I got burnt?
come on steel - the only thing on fire at toyota when you were there in round 4 was the left hand side score board attendant...

Spider, by my count, at least three scummers and one bluebagger. Including one tosser who claims he never trolls.

Just to get this straight KOTH, if I dressed up as a clown, and jumped on your fence, and it collapsed, then you'd have no probelms with me suing you?

I am being serious here - not trolling.

I was there when it happened and the fence gave way. No one intentionally pushed it or wanted it to collapse. I actually pushed back away from the fence when the crowd started surging.

I'm surprised the fence gave way - it was dangerous. It should have been stronger.

If you came onto my private property and jumped on my fence then I'd be able to sue you - not the other way round. But from a public liability point of view, if you put on an event and invite the public to attend, you have to bear some responsibility for the safety of the public.

By the same token, the fences aren’t meant to have 30 piss-heads surging in to it simultaneously. They’re not designed for that. What do you want, Hillsborough style fencing for NRL grounds??

Time for people to take responsibility for their own actions whether it was “accidental” or not…

I'm all for personal responsibility. But I didn't start this blue - I'm merely pointing out in response that there are two sides to every story and that I think it's a bit rich to lay all of the blame at the CSSC.

i would say that the little demountable shed at the back of the hill charging $5.50 per schooner and $3.50 for a pie would have more than enough profits from sales to the group responsible for the fence damage. at $5.50 per schooner i would think they would have enough bank to construct a more sturdy fence also.

That's even worse.

I don't believe you.

The yobs thought it was a real hoot:

Quotes:
"...you know what. It was f**ken fun. Go to the ground, sing, drink watch footy and go on a bit of a rampage."
"I loved it so the rest of you can go and get f**ked."
"How good were those fans that broke the Oki fence!"
"Classic. Loved it."
"Just watched it. f**king hilarious!"
"...then we trash their ground... nothing like some good ol celebratory pillaging.."
And this from one confused scummer:
"always good to eat into the scum finances with fence repairs."

Does that sound like a bunch of law abiding citizens? You lot should go and support a soccer team

20-30 drongos constitutes a crowd now? lol

What did you think was going to happen when they started 'surging'?

Show a bit of respect for public property and be prepared to take responsibilty for your own actions, and there would not have been problem.

Can we expect a rash of whiplash claims to go through the courts now? Bunch of bludgers... tell them to get a job.

You forgot to mention that I would have to dress up as a clown. Apparently that puts you above the law in the shire.

I'd like to know who is going to take responsibility for their own actions in building such an inadequate fence.

Perhaps you could also sue them for anguish and mental distress.

1 keg of beer = $120 (i'm being generous there)
1 keg of beer = approx 120 beers
cost per beer = $1
the nuffies working in the shack couldn't be earning more than $20 an hour, we'll say their labour equals about a dollar a beer (thats being generous again)
total cost of beer $2

65 CSSC members avaerage say 6 beers (thats being conservative)
that is around 400 beers.
$3.50 profit for 400 beers is $1400.
plus around $1000 in ticket sales.

cost to fix the crappy fence - not that much.

CSSC has brought alot of money into the game, i'm sure the club will still come out on top once the fence is fixed.
