Let me state that I hate the roosters as much as the next bloke. This game however typified how bad and inconsistent the referees actually are.
There were 2 decisions in the game that stood out to me that changed the game...
1. The Heighington try.
It was a legit try, but the tackle before Jennings was clearly chicken winged by Heighington. Given the amount of penalties in the ruck, you'd think something so blatently obvious would be picked up. Penalty to Roosters, take 6 points off the sharks total.
2. The Tuavasaheck no try.
If this is a no try, basically every time a fullback takes a high ball and his team mates protect him when taking the catch (even without the player running a defender off the ball) it should still technically then be an obstruction. Toupo (or whoever the winger was) never ran the sharks player off the ball, he was just in that place as a result of chasing through the kick. He can't disappear. So if a defender running through to tackle a fullback bumps into a player from the attacking team (even if he doesnt change his line) its an obstruction (based on the rules used to give that try). Such a farce.
There were a heap of other penalties which I think were unjust... but I cbf going through them all.. Thats a 12 point turn around...
