We've gone cold on Sheens coming to the warriors over the figure tigers management wants us to pay out for his contract on top of the deal we're offering him, you guys can keep him.

Media here also saying Sheens doesnt want to go to Auckland. Looks like its a sacking or kicked upstairs to coaching director until he gets sick of it and elaves or contract finishes.

Not keen on the C.D role as his influence will remain, and if he is to be newtered and moved on because WT need a change what hope does his successor have with Teflon looking over your shoulder. Mind you Humphreys says Sheens in good at shifting things around in the gym and getting guest speakers in..... Wonder of the contract goves leeway for salary if duties not that as head coach. Hell, Sheens must have been laughing as he watched Humphreys sign that contract extension in 2011- no kpis linking perfomrance to job and if want him to p'off the payout terms are incredibly generous.

Talk that Sheens has another meeting with the board tonight and he will be arseholed.

Then negotiations are expected to begin with Farah. a replacement coach has already been decided upon in Parish. Because Manly's finals run ended means the Parish announcement can be made now without dusrupting Manly.

Brown would command more coin than Parish.

As much as I'm glad it looks as though Sheens is finally being moved on, I'm sad its come to this. The extension last year should not have happened. Should have left on a good note, with reputation intact, and taken the Panthers offer.

Unfortunately everyone was too comfortable and now everything is unravelling. This mess will take a bit to fix............

I dont want to dance on the blokes grave. He got us the 05 premiership and instilled a great spirit and pride in the team but he just stayed too long and his ideosyncracies came to the fore again- he couldnt help himself. He really needed a strong sidekick that can stand up to him and bring the more extreme examples, that infuriated so many here, under control.

I'd rather Brown. At least he is proven at first grade level. Yes he might ask for more cash but we'd be getting a better coach with better results. If we sign Parish then we'd probably need an experience assistant coach to guide him.

There is merit in that statement that could be argued for and against, but at this stage i would be happy just to rid the club of Sheens.

This is a fair post.

I think most can be thankful Sheens changed what had frustrated many in the early days / A club still stuck in the NSWRL days & brought the JV into the National/Modern era.

For that everyone should be grateful to him.

But it doesn't give you a free pass for life, & it seems now most finally agree at all levels the divorce needs to happen.

Thanks guys. I hope he goes with dignity and this doesnt denegrate into a media circus with all sides squaring up. The circus is already beginning to happen.

Yes, have to agree also with your comments Magpies Forever...Dirty Harry said it best when he said "A man's got to know his limitations."

On the subject of Parish, he might turn out to be the man but I think both he and especially Toovey inherited a Manly team that was always going to perform well this year. They had lost no players and were still operating under the methods put in place by Hasler...lets see how Manly goes next year and the year after.

Parish is an unknown but I am prepared (if he gets the gig) to back him but gee he'd want to get control of who is going and who is staying or the will be f@#$ all to chose from.

Whoever succeeds Sheens, next year's roster will be mostly captive to things that have already happened. Not much meat left in the marketplace and the roster wil pretty well be as it is now with gaps filled in from the extended NRL squad (not a bad thing giving others a shot), State Cup and U20's. Hopefully we can attract some worthwhile signings but I'm not too optimistic.

Live by the sword die by the sword, yes it would have been nice for Sheens to take up the Penrith offer last year and given a good farewell, but Iam sure Bryce Gibbs and Rhino would have liked a chance to run a lap after their last games with the club.

Lets not get sentimental, its a hard game coaching and they get well paid. Also all the late mail is pointing towards Brown as the new man

Yep, until I see that statement on the WT website announcing the parting of the ways part of me still expects Teflon to escape yet again..........

How is Brown's coaching record since he went to SL ?most likely he has matured since leaving Saints, then he had a excellent squad but failed to deliver a premiership. At least if he gets the WT gig he will have players that were not his former team mates.

If it takes just a season of a lower paid coach willing to bash heads together and break the pathetic culture within the club I am all for it

and break the pathetic culture within the club
and I guess we don't know if that culture starts and ends with Sheens.

The CEO has to be the one driving the culture now, he has to take control. As for the support staff well, who knows, however,

Payten always said that he was going to be a coach and for a 1st timer he has done very well indeed. I wonder how he feels in regards to his former team mates? I'd also assume that if Parish gets the gig, someone like Payten would be retained as it's not like Parish has a 'team' that he can bring to the Tigers. Todd wants to learn and I'd keep him on to learn the ways of someone else.

Fletcher at BRET is the same and I'd say that he might be very pissed off to see how some of his players have been treated by Sheens. He is another one who has made the GF a few times times and could be called a success.

I'd say it was the 1st grade support guys who have been around a while who may not be safe but then again, might be a very interesting interview process coming up for those guys..

I think the club needs an experienced hand to clean up this mess. The players must b really be concerned and only the words of an experienced coach will allay them

Steve folkes knows almost every player in the WT and could make a quick assessment in regards to tuqiri, ayshford and others whose futures to this point have been uncertain
