i don't understand what was going through Andersons mind when he picked this team, so many players well deserved ahead of alot of play IN the team, but overlooked... its f***ed up. hate the sound of that squad, about 1/2 the players deserved there aussie jersey, the other half were living on luck.

Campbell should just face the fact that he will never don the green and gold

The same treatment that Choc Mundine and Nathan Blacklock faced for a long time.

Cut my quote in half so you can make the same boring old point we always hear from Dragons fans. In case you have forgotten, Blacklock has played for Australia and Mundine played for NSW.

Blacklock should have a NSW jersey to his name. The fact that Aincough got selected ahead of him was a disgrace. I don't however think he was unlucky not to make Australian sides. At various times he had the likes of Sailor, MacDougall, Tuqiri and Rodgers ahead of him, all better players.

Mundine was also unlucky to have had better players in front of him. I know he likes to think he was the best and has brainwashed other Saints fans but during his career he had players like Daley, Walters and Fittler all in front of him and all better players.

There was no winger in the game better than Blacklock a couple of years ago. He won the try scorer of the year 3 years in a row.

He is jsut a good finisher. He cannot tackle or create a break himself. Was just on the end of a good play.

Can someone please tell me who besides Anderson are the selectors for the team....Baileys inclusion is nothing short of embarrassing for the code!

I think one thing that everyone has forgotten to say is that there should be more players picked, it seems gone are the days when they used to pick a huge squad of 26 or 28.

When I look at this team all I see is a loss in the amount of depth

Bob Fulton? ;-)

With a limited (23-man) squad, you need a certain amount of flexibility. Bails definitely gives you that.

How exactly does selecting an Origin player for the Roos embarrass the code?

I was thinking that myself. Glad you said it.

Flannery should have been picked ahead of Bailey.

Crocker deserves a shot - how tough is he.

Preston had to be there as did Priddis instead of Budarse

how about Martin Lang last night, those hits he took. I'm talking about the toughness btw, not deserving a shot. Battered side to side, still got up to play the rest of the game

I can’t fathom why everyone is so shocked Preston missed out. How could he play when he just doesn’t get on with the coach? Whether Anderson is the best or the right coach for the job or whether he is right or wrong in his dealings with Preston are all by the by. He is still the coach, and while he is the coach he has to have players around him that he can work with. He can’t work with Preston Campbell. End of story.

if being tough gets you a shot then I feel sorry for Nutley.

Crocker = my favorite thug though

Maybe in the day to day grind of club footy but when we are talking about denying players of the honor of playing rep football then no. Campbell deserves his chance to tour, even if it is to just stay out of sight and soak up all the knowledge he can from the players around him.

In my opinion I gues its a reasonable squad. The fact is everyone has a diffrent opinion so your best to juts leave it. I dont have to many problems, but its far from the team I would of selected. Ive got no problems with Kimmorley as hes a fine player. The fact is its going to be a weak side with all the guys out.

To people who want Luke Priddis there I cant see your argument. He had a top year and is a top player, but he is still not as good Buderus or Wing and there is no point playing a third hooker.

Hegarty I think deserves to be there to his critics. Wtih all the backs out he would be the first centre I would pick.

Thats my opinion though.

Devere is there??!! I realise a lot of the top centres are injured but running through names in my mind I can't see how he beat- Ben Harris, Adam Mogg, Steven Bell, Mark Hughes, Matt Cooper, Chris Walker, Ryan Cross, Paul Bowman, Albert Torrens, Mark O'Halloran, Russell Richardson, Ben Macdougall, Jarrad Anderson, the retired Aaron Moule... well basically anyone. Other than that shame to see Steve Price missing, but it's still a decent side considering all the withdrawals.

Fair go. Hes played for NSW 4 times now. His first match was in game 1 2001 where he wasn't selected for game 2 because he was the casulty of a very poor NSW performance. Then this year he played in all 3 matches, was solid in the first two, didn't have the greatest of games in the 3rd but he was playing in a side that wasn't playing at its best.

I recall Brad Meyers having gone alright in an origin match before too. A decent performance doesn't change my view he shouldn't have been selected in the first place. And we were nothing short of woeful in the first two origins anyway so of course all the Blues players came out looking better than they were. I'll admit that he played respectably in the first eight or nine rounds of this year, form that would have earned the Origin call-up, but after the rep season he really didn't play well at all and I really do rate him behind most of those players I mentioned.

Yeah i've deidided to create a topic for the five extra players you'd select for the squad right here: http://www.leagueunlimited.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=4650

It seems the only players they selected who can play Five-Eight is Wing or Girdler

Willie Mason really has to make every chance he gets on this tour count or he runs the risk of being a memory in a year or two.

Looking at the squad, the competition for spots in the pack will be pretty full on. Kearns surely has to get a start, being vc almost assures it. Buderus will be in 9. Webcke the other prop. Fitzgibbon will be one second rower and Ricketson lock... leaves one spot IMO for someone to stand up. As for the becn forwards, would you take CLinton over Civoniceva? Or Villa over both of them? What about Waterhouse?? Some good depth in the pack and good to see some younger guys who will hopefully take their chances.

The backs is a different story. Girdler (if fit) will be one centre, with probably Hegarty. Surely Lockyer will stay at fullback, leaving Gower,Kimmorley and Wing to fight out the halves. IMO, Anderson will put Kimmorley at half, Gower 5/8, with Wing coming off the bench at hooker. The wings will havbe to end up being Minichello and either Matt Sing or De Vere, with Sing probably getting the nod

I'm guessing Gower will be playing 5/8 - if that is the case does anyone think Preston would of been a better 5/8 for the Kangaroos?

There is a rough team of players who didn't make it. Not bad eh?

Davico was unlucky, in fact very unlucky
i want to know what the Raiders have done to selectors?
NSW we were coming 1st and had no one in the team....... and that is the first time the team on top had no one in SOO........ ok i got over it, expecting that the AUS selectors acually have an idea..... but alas they dont.... McLinden, J Monna, Davico, O'Hara and possibly even Hindy should have made the train on squad. Instead we get two, O'Hara who pulled out through injury and Davico who didnt get selected.

McLinden SHOULD be there! If your looking for versitlity then McLinden and Croker would have been top notch!

And on preston its no surprise that the coach that ousted him from the sharks is now keeping him from a Green and Gold jersy.....

Kimmorley over presto or macca? Waterhouse over Davico? Buderus over priddis? Mason over Price?............. its uppercut time selectors! Double or Triple?
