Even Matt Orford would have been a better choice than Kimmorely.....Gower was the best this season but in my opinion Orford wasn't far behind!

Can I just ask how many games of you guys have seen Kimmorley play? He has been in very good form.

I wouldn't have picked him myself but you guys are acting like he is Ben Kusto :?

Priddis should have been one of the first picked after the season he has had.

I agree but Campbell should of been there before him.
NO CAMPBELL! THATS DISCRACEFUL!!!!!!!! I can't believe dead nut made it and he didn't. Crocker  Are they out of there mind?? Picking only a half decent hooker/backrower when both positions already strong and the clive churchill medalist missing out. This is f**king discraceful, the sharks come way down the ladder and get two players in it look at the raiders top 4 and get no players that is so discraceful it is unheard of. CHris Anderson give yourself an uppercut you f**king dickead.

Ahhh I feel so much better now. :D

I'm very disappointed to see Richard Villasanti picked in the Australian team.

He's a mighty fine player, but for the sake of International football I was hoping he would've been overlooked by the selectors.

That way he could then have been picked by the Kiwis, which of course would have strengthened their team, which in turn would've made these up-coming Internationals a lot more competitive.

Villasanti playing for Australia just adds a few more points to their tally, which in turn will just widen the already wide gap between Oz and the rest of the world.

Villa playing for the Kiwis would have made things a lot more closer and more interesting.

I see Benji Marshall also played for the Aussie schoolboys the other day.

It would be nice if the Ocker selectors could use a bit of vision and overlook the players who have the potential to play for both OZ or NZ.

State of Origin is a success because it is competitive.

It is competitive because QLD got the opportunity to pick their own homegrown players which previously they were unable to do.

A NSW v QLD contest would be a load of bumpkin if they were still playing under the old rules (where NSW had first pick).

Internationals may not reach that level of competitiveness, but it could be a whole lot better than it currently is if all players currently eligible for both Australia and New Zealand are overlooked by the Ocker selectors and are therefore given the chance to play for the Kiwis.

Devere is there??!! I realise a lot of the top centres are injured but running through names in my mind I can't see how he beat- Ben Harris, Adam Mogg, Steven Bell, Mark Hughes, Matt Cooper, Chris Walker, Ryan Cross, Paul Bowman, Albert Torrens, Mark O'Halloran, Russell Richardson, Ben Macdougall, Jarrad Anderson, the retired Aaron Moule... well basically anyone. Other than that shame to see Steve Price missing, but it's still a decent side considering all the withdrawals.

I'm surprised Greg Bird, Matt Hilder and Jarred Anderson didn't make it. In fact Ben Anderson must feel hard done by too. :D

Loved that piece by Danny Wielder titled "the Andersons" in yesterdays Sun Herald. Sums the bloke up well.

Kimmorely simply hasn't been up there with the top halfbacks this year, thats why we are outraged. Johns would be first pick if not injured but from those left, Gower, Orford, McLinden and Sherwin have all had better seasons and have all been in the thick of the finals. If the side was truly selected on form even Firman would be ahead of Noddy. This is nothing but a coaches pet selection, right out of the Bennett and Ikin book.

This isn't 99 and hes not gunning it for the Storm anymore. He's been out of the loop for too long. I have no doubt he'll handle it as he still has plenty of ability (besides it doesn't take much to look good in front of that Australian pack) but this has made a mockery of what should be an honor to have actually earned a National jersey.

I agree with you about Kimmorley - as much as i don't like him he is a good player (especially with a decent team around him ;-) ) and i would rate him about the second best/equal second best halfback currently playing (Andrew Johns no. 1).

It must be something about the Newcastle area that creates good halfbacks.

I have a scoop about the Kangaroo squad. I can confirm that Jarrad Anderson missed out because he doesn't have a club for next season.

Campbell should just face the fact that he will never don the green and gold

The same treatment that Choc Mundine and Nathan Blacklock faced for a long time.

I agree that Blacklock was harshly treated, but Mundine never deserved an Aussie jersey ahead of the players that were there at the time. I couldn't believe Blacklock was snubbed from the NSW Origin squad after scoring that brilliant match-winning try against the Tigers a couple of years ago.

Mundine was worthy of a blues jumper and he got it - no need to whinge. If he had of stuck with league, he'd be there now though.

It's going to take a loss for the selectors to realise they can't keep picking their favourites over in-form players.

Have to disagree with that both Mundine and Blacklock had better players in front of them. Preston however is cleary the #1 5/8th available and there is no excuse for him to not be there.

Fair go. Hes played for NSW 4 times now. His first match was in game 1 2001 where he wasn't selected for game 2 because he was the casulty of a very poor NSW performance. Then this year he played in all 3 matches, was solid in the first two, didn't have the greatest of games in the 3rd but he was playing in a side that wasn't playing at its best.

There was no winger in the game better than Blacklock a couple of years ago. He won the try scorer of the year 3 years in a row.
