I'm sorry Bobby. If you look at the last 12 months Soward could school Campese.

Campese can be a great player but he is way, way too inconsistent. Soward was the most consistent 5/8 in season 2009. To say otherwise is showing your inability to see things with perspective.

Fair enough Dragons fans. I know your proud of Soward's achievements this year and you should be. He's come a long way. He obviously needed a coach like Wayne Bennett.

I'll keep my mouth shut re: Campo until next season when he's fully fit.

we've been hearing that for 10 years now

2 points to note:

1 - We won the Under 20s comp last year with these stars. This is more than just hype, they've proven they are the best young crop.

2 - If other teams developed their own and didnt rely on cheque-books you'd see the Raiders dominating.

I'll always support the Raiders developing their juniors, I cant understand the logic that goes behind supporting a player for 2 years and then when he loses form supporting a star from some other team that happens to where your jersey for the next 2 years (and so the cycle continues)

Bobby,

I think you'll find that 99% of the criticism of campo is his consistency, or lack of it. I do not doubt his ability one iota. IMO he should have been the origin 5/8, selectors should have stuck with him. NSW would be much better in 2010 if they had.

Yeah, Canberra are the only club that develop quality juniors, only to see them lured away by better $$$$$.

Injury hampered him and he admitted the origin drop hit his confidence hard. He also went from being fringe 1st grader to the go to guy in our team in the space of a few months and I think the pressure may have played on him a bit.
This was a maturing season for him IMO. He was starting to return to form towards the end of the season and hopefully kicks on next season.

No, but we are the only ones who don't exacerbate the problem by chasing after everyone elses players.

I dont agree, all clubs chase players from other clubs. Canberra's biggest issue is attracting quality players to Canberra.

Besides Mal, we’ve never had a history of chasing name first grade players. Most of our star players were guys who never played with another NRL or Winfield Cup Club. I think our biggest problem is coaching and Admin.

Surely we can sort out a way of local teams getting all their games shown in their local markets. If fta gets a Saturday night game then we will have every day covered and each town gets to see their team play. Fox hold the key I guess

ps. don't think Dugen has the pace to be a geniune superstar.

I take it you didn't see any of their games this year. One of the best games of the year was the raiders v dragons game where they tore us a new one.

Dugan is a superstar in the waiting, they have some of the most exciting young players atm.

Neutral point of view I'd rather watch Hayne. Yes Dugan might be a great player but I'd rather watch Hayne right now. Camberra sign a Hayne or a Folau they will be on FTA more often.

from a neutral point of view, I've seen enough broncos games for the next 10 years

Why the f*ck shouldn't Canberra get a few more games? Half the year the Broncos were boring as batsh*t, and quite a lot of sides up that end of the ladder weren't much better.
