Need to get Lolohea to play 5/8 and wait for whoever out of Taylor, Elgey and Roberts is in the QLD Cup for the GC for a halfback. God knows about hooker but McInnes is rubbish. I think Nightingale was a good interchange utility back in the days the club wasn't a basket-case. He can tackle, pass, runs hard and etc. I would think he can be turned into a replacement hooker very easily. "Gareth67" mentioned on another thread Nightingale playing 5/8. No question he would be better than Widdop but I'm not sure he would make a good 5/8.
You wont be getting Lolohea to play anywhere.

the way sam Williams is playing today he would be worth another look seems to have gained in confidence since getting rid of the headgear.

Fine. Then get the guy from the U20s who I heard was penciled in to be the 5/8 as soon as next season.

He was another victim of Widdop. I bet he was being denounced on this forum by Old Timer, BennyV and etc as being the reason the team was a rabble.

Facts, Sigurd, facts...... Williams was a victim of the moron named Steve Price.

For what it's worth, Paul Kent on MMM today mentioned Doust under huge pressure with Clubs performance and he believed some announcement in relation to coaching question will be released in next few weeks. He was not sure if Cleary was a done deal.
He mentioned Warriors could be option for Cleary.
He went on about how we've stuffed up our salary cap from a few years back, paying too much for players and resigned players on too much money. Our style of play is so structured it just does not work. Hooper seems to think Benji to the Storm would make sense?

FTR, I rate Sam Williams very highly and IMO he should have got more of a chance. Was a victim of ridiculousness by Price and would have preferred to give him a full 2014 and onwards than sign Benji.

Try another thread Sigurdilevsky.

I see. Do you rate Widdop very highly?

I hate to be negative, but McInnes is shite and apparently Hastings is a twat and isnt that good either. Nothing will change anyway with Humpty Dumpty head as coach.

If Mary isn't replaced in the next few days, I don't think it will happen. A decision is surely made by now, no need for a 'review'.

It really is unthinkable that Mary would be retained but we're talking about the Dragons here.

Once again you you have incorrectly quoted a fellow forum member .Do you suck the Vodka on Sunday's as well as Thursdays ?
I mentioned that If you changed Jasons name to Benji Nightingale , he could also play 5/8th . Naturally we all rate Jason very highly , and if he was only a few years younger , we would continue to be entertained by his natural ability , for a few more seasons .
As it is , at the very least , we shall see him perform again next year , and who knows , perhaps the year after that , however that will most certainly be as a winger .

Circumstantially, I rated him highly. He showed at Melbourne that he can play a role very well. Props to him for going out of his comfort zone to try and be the dominant half. To date, he hasnt shown he can do that, albeit its hard to determine what anyone can do under the pla ks weve had coaching us.

He is not a marquee player, and hes not a dominant half. He probably needs a few specific things happening around him to shine, or some specific coaching to plug some gaps. That said, he's not as bad as hes currently playing.

In conclusion, at the moment i don't rate him highly at all. But much like a few others from our team, like Thompson, JDB, Dugan, I'd expect him to transform under a better coach if he left the club.

Sam Williams to Eels, ideal half to suit Norman at 5/8.

I think the point is being missed, we need go forward. Give Hutchinson a go next year in the halves. We need to get some help for Packer. We should be looking at Vaughan from the raiders or Douglas from the Titans as another prop.

So after all taht, you don't rate Widdop highly. In other words, Canberras backup playmaker is better than our "marquee" playmaker. I think that sums up our predicament. Williams is certainly better than Widdop but personally I don't rate him highly. A fringe first grader.

WTF are you talking about "going out of his comfort zone" as though he had a choice. There isn't any indication Melbourne made him an offer.

Ok. On another thread "Gareth67" stated that if Nighingale changes his name to Benji Nightingale he could move to 5/8. I don't know why he would need to change his name. Regardless, he can run, draw a defender and pass and he can tackle front on so you are certainly right that he would make a better 5/8 than Widdop.
