Slater = GRUB

Like to cite some examples Nevan, because it was obviously to a neutral viewer that Dragons were all over the head and some employed some very questionable tactics, the same tactics Storm have been lamented for in the past. Suck up the loss mate and move on, youre embarrassing yourself.

I have came to terms with our loss. We played terrible and never deserved to win.

Two incidents come to mind immediately. One was the Slater elbows to Hornby and another was a Dragons player taken out in backplay.

Slater was clearly reacting to being bent backwards and grappled, thats why Storm got the penalty. If a player getting taken out in back play is the dirtiest thing that happened in a NRL game. Dragons should count themselves lucky.

rare for hornby to do that

It looked like he was trying out for the WWE.

And if you guys think that game was grubby, go watch your local a grade comp. Hasn't been a game where I haven't been elbowed in the head whilst gettig tackled.

slater has some niggle in his game...tons of players do.

Dragons= our bitches

I love how he compared slater to gallen, everyone else seems to forget the ennis is one of, if not, the biggest grubs in the game. Dragons fans can't see that as he was exactly the same when he played there and they believe that the club is full of saints. No pun intended.

Thats it...is Slater a grub? ...most people that say yes hate the storm and just need an excuse to put sh*t on us. He has done some grubby-ish things before....but fmd you see elbows, knees, high tackles, grapples etc etc every week from numerous players.

Saints fans acknowledge Ennis was and is a grub.
He played one season with us some 5 years ago now....it's not like he learnt his trade with us.

Enjoying your school holidays? Do you find year 6 much harder than year 5?
What a great response neville. No need to get upset. I am just stating my opinion and i believe the dragons are the grubbiest team in the comp with wayne bennet coaching this into their game. I dont fault Bennet because he has realised that he has a rubbish team and they must resort to this if they are to succeed.

Do you ever use any facts or research before you post?

Saints had been penalised once before yesterday's match for high shots or grapples.
One penalty in 3 matches.
Yeah that's a grubby team right there. :roll:

That was the biggest dog act of the game, and im pretty shocked everyone seems to be turning a blind eye to it... completely unnecessary, late and cheap, and it could done some serious damage is Slater had of gone through or into the signage.

when i saw that i thought it was pretty bad, then i realised it was slater who went flying....dan hunt is now my favourite player.

Actually, apart from a 10 minute period in the 2nd half the Dragons matched the Storm blow for blow.

The Dragons played a very high standard of football yesterday, however they were unfortunately playing against a team who could match them and add another 2% on top.

The Dragons didn't do much wrong, but the Storms defence was so tight, very few real opportunities presented themselves.

Against anyone else in the comp the Dragons would have won by 20 yesterday.

Oh to the original poster, the reason Slater slung an arm back at a blokes head was he'd been taken by a high shot in the first place and the bloke was pulling him back and not allowing him to get up. Slater reacted and in my eyes was slightly fortunate not to concede a penalty for retalliation.

Ill advised. Pretty much spot on. Grubby? Possibly slightly at a push.
A reason for righteous indignation? Hardly.

The way some people carry on about player behaviour, you'd think this was the society for Puritan Choirboys and not rugby league.

The high shot was just a lazy arm with no intent and then slater was only being held the same length of time as a 1000 tackles a weekend if that is all that is required to justify elbowing someone in the head then their are going to be a lot of sore elbows out there.

And irrespective of justification for him using the elbow i thought striking was a offence that could be cited by the MRC and that using the elbow would be considered worse than punching.

it seems Raider_69 is the president of the Billy Slater fan club.

F*ck Slater, he is a grub. He is the new Les Boyd.

Talking of grubs...Weyman holds his own.

Love the jealous idiots in this thread who have to sit and watch average fullbacks each week...suck it up big time.

The anti-storm sentiment is alive and kicking again..

I don't think you'll find many of us who wouldn't want him in our teams, however he is one of the grubbiest backs playing the game.
