Well in that case, thank you for making an honest assessment of him, something which the majority of your fans are unable to do.

Yes, Hayne when he wants to turn up is a brilliant ball runner/player. He is a very natural footballer, and with the right attitude could go down as one of the best attacking players the game has seen.

However at the moment, he is woeful positionally and defensively, dreadfully inconsistent and lazy. I wouldn't trade him at fullback for Dugan for anything personally.

Optimally, he should undergo some expert halves tutelage in the off season and move to 5/8th for 2011. Potentially he is a very complete player, far more so than say a Billy Slater or Greg Inglis.
No worries.
I actually copped some flack from fellow Eels fans when I named Dugan as my NSW fullback, with Hayne on the wing. Hayne didn't do so great on the wing this year but he was virtually player of the series last year on the wing, so he can do it.

Hayne would be better than Dugan in attack, but Dugan would be safer in defense and I know I wouldn't be picking fullbacks for their attacking play. A fullbacks main job description is fielding kicks/defusing bombs, not throwing no look passes and playing a 5/8 role.

More bullsh*t jerking off of Jarryd Hayne by the media.

I think if there was a statistic rating "heart" Billy Slater would outrank Jarryd Hayne 10 fold, and thats what makes him that much a better player than Hayne.

It takes more than small patches of good form to be a great player. Something Parra fan's haven't realised yet.

Another nothing performance from Billy the kid, done nothing all year.

You serious? Why would you pick this game where Slater has had a blinder to try and troll him?

Edit: oh I forgot, people on this board pretty much always ignore defense. Regardless he scored one try and set up at least one more.

I saw the rating in thos mornings Sun Herald http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/league-news/player-ratings--eels-v-roosters-20100801-110xx.html

Josh Rakic
The Eels' player ratings
1. Jarryd Hayne: Up, up and away. Under more pressure from his own team than Julia Gillard. Nothing happened without him. 9/10

Only a total idiot would have rated Haynes performance last night as a 9.

I wanted to vomit when i saw that in the morning. 'The Grapple' on Triple M were also showering him with praise over last night's performance.. unbelievable.

Sure he looked like the only one at times doing something in attack.. but dear god, he did not deserve a 9 with some of the errors he made.. in attack and defence

Get over it. What makes you cry more, the fact that Slater is a far superior fullback to Hayne or the fact that you will be joining the storm for an early exit before the finals this year?

Edit:
Yeah thats why Hayne has scored 68 tries in the past 4 games

You = EPIC FAIL

And yet he has still managed to let in even more tries than that.

You are such a knob, Slater is playing for nothing, on Saturday night Hayne was playing to get his side into the top 8 and failed miserably in defence, so much so that Foxsports created a 60 second bit at halftime on how bad his positional play was.

Slater is a total player he proved it in Origin by getting Man of the Series and he has proved it over the past 4 years with the storm. Hayne can only dream of a career like Slaters.

And dont forget that most of the games experts are now rating Slater as the best fullback ever, Ahead of names like Jack, Belcher, Brasher.....all of whom had a good attacking game but most importantly a good defensive game, dont forget the job of a Fullback is to defuse and return Kicks and most important be there to make a tackle when the opposing team makes a line break, Hayne wasnt even in position to make a tackle cause he was checking himself out on the screen

okay i will try and post without being to bias...

okay hayne isnt the best positioned in defence but to say that slater would have stopped those tries... your kidding right? Hayne was not in position to stop them.... why?
As the defence in front of him should have made those stops. I personally dont think ANY fullback would have stopped those.
Yes his positioning isnt the best... but those tries were a result in poor play from the whole TEAM.

He was our only bit of attack the other night, scored a top try. Looked dangerous....

I would not swap him for any other fullback... and i would love to see how he went with capable halves/hooker.

In saying that The Roosters were amazing and totally killed us... I would love to have carney as our 6 or 7.
