No worries.Well in that case, thank you for making an honest assessment of him, something which the majority of your fans are unable to do.
Yes, Hayne when he wants to turn up is a brilliant ball runner/player. He is a very natural footballer, and with the right attitude could go down as one of the best attacking players the game has seen.
However at the moment, he is woeful positionally and defensively, dreadfully inconsistent and lazy. I wouldn't trade him at fullback for Dugan for anything personally.
Optimally, he should undergo some expert halves tutelage in the off season and move to 5/8th for 2011. Potentially he is a very complete player, far more so than say a Billy Slater or Greg Inglis.
I actually copped some flack from fellow Eels fans when I named Dugan as my NSW fullback, with Hayne on the wing. Hayne didn't do so great on the wing this year but he was virtually player of the series last year on the wing, so he can do it.
Hayne would be better than Dugan in attack, but Dugan would be safer in defense and I know I wouldn't be picking fullbacks for their attacking play. A fullbacks main job description is fielding kicks/defusing bombs, not throwing no look passes and playing a 5/8 role.
