SMH: A pair of losses, but Kearney is coach for long haul, say Eels

That was our problem last year, we were in the game or leading until the 65th minute then we collapsed. Games like the Cowboys away were we were up by 12 points at the 65th minute and went down by 18 points. The last home game of the year against the Roosters, we were up by 2 converted tries at the 65th minute, in the 66th they scored and eventually won the game.

We need to be in games for the entire 80, if we are going to win them.

It's hard to draw a comparison to last year at this early stage of the season. But with benny and sandow in the halves, and as we get jarryd back into the mix, i am pretty sure that we will win more of the close games this year than we did last year.

My thoughts are that the business of re-signing coaches or dealing with conjecture about two players retiring should not be in the papers.

Behind the scenes, if I was Bentley I would certainly be negotiating with SK to extend his deal if that's the dialogue he wants. However I would delay signing anything until another 10 rounds or so. If we are wallowing at the bottom I would lose my pen and look for alternatives.

:sarcasm: "<stabs eye with pen>" - Just how many more pens do you have?

Bentley is right, it's not where you start but how you finish. I reckon we will make the 8. But I wouldn't be extending Kearneys contract just yet. I would wait to see how the season pans out.

If you ejaculate too early you ain't got much left in the tank to finish!

the key to building the house is to hav strong white ant protection

Is that what failed Daniel Anderson?

Was there a pest controller on the books?

If yes, he/she/they f**ked up bigtime.

Maybe, DA needed Sir John Kerr around him!

We have lost both games to two sides who will be definate top four and in both games we were a chance to win .It has been a long time since i have seen our nyc boys play with such intensity and passion there is at least 6 of them who are only 17,supporters who make the effort to turn up and watch these kids will know that our club is in good hands,The days of seeing our coaching staff let go of the Kingstons,Maloneys,Williams are dead and buried, this is my two bobs worth.

We should be making the 8 atleast every season and i haven't seen many if any quality performances under Kearney since he took charged. I fear that he is very stubborn and is going to go out on his shield because of that.

Any other club would look elsewhere if their coach didn't get results.

people can choose to base their opinions on what happens 80 minutes a week, I think it's a bit broader than that.

having had the pleasure of speaking to people at the club i'm certain that the current coaching staff have the systems, process's and procedures in place to build for the future, i have and will continue to encourage others to talk to a director or Bently if they have any concerns about the future direction of our club at the football level.

Why do that when it's so much easier to have a whinge on an internet forum???

There's a lot more to coaching than copying bellamy's five year plan, and sounding good.

We need to see results on the field, more than anything, and until that happens we shouldn't rush into extending SK contract

If we do happen to make the 8, I'd be happy for management to extend his stay.
