It's easy when the refs only look one way.

I saw Tigers get penalised for the same stuff the Storm were doing......I'm kind of getting sick of seeing them constantly having their hand on the ball etc. and never getting penalised only to see an opposition team penalised the first time they do it.

They will be remembered as greats because commentators pump up their tyres constantly but the fact remains they are together because the Storm systematically cheated the cap to keep them there!

This. They get away with more than any other team. Arm pulling, hands on the ball, working the player on the ground etc, etc, etc, etc, etc the Tigers were penalized out of the game for using Storm tactics.

They are good players, probably great players, but they thrive in a system that is all about either a flagrant disregard for fairness and decency, or better put, being out and out cheaters.

Slater is just about the biggest cat in the game as well. None of the greats, from our 80s team could ever be accused of that.

Robinson was their best player on the field by far, after the Tigers hit the front to make the score 12-6 the Storm got 6 straight penalties to nil. Some were warranted but some were absolute bullshit considering the Storm do the same thing in almost every game.

Not only are these scumbags still being rewarding for their cheating by still playing for a team that systematically rorted the NRL for 5 yeats they get every penalty count or close call go there way. It's an absolute joke these merkins get away with it week in week out. They are a protected species and can do no wrong in the eyes of the media

Casper, get back to us when your Melbourne boys have won 4 premierships.

In fact, wake us up when they win 3 in a row. Because we all know that only 1 team has ever won 3 in a row since the institution of the 6 tackle rule (for the slow, or drug addled, that's Parra early 80s).

Smith/ Slater/ Cronk have 1 premiership, and all turn 30 this year. Odds of that trio getting to 4 premierships each are astronomical.

Please wash your mouth out?

you'd all give your right and left nut to have Smith as your hooker
The Titans almost did, but that still wasn't enough to get the 3 contract signing cheat. If all things were fair Smith would be a titan and the Storm wouldn't have won shit the last 5 years. We all know he is the team and without him they are nothing. See the 08 GF for an example.

I'm saying that the rest of the squad are playing like champions week in and out.
Do you know of another squad that have consistently performed at such high lofty standards year after year with only three world-class players on their books? All other great eras were made up of squads sprinkled with top class players across the park. West Tigers 05 and Panthers 03 did it for one year ONLY. If the Storm continue on this high standard path for another year or so and besides NO drug enhancers, etc, were involved, then we would all be blind and pig-headed to not take our hats off to the greatness of Smith, Cronk & Slater and Bellamy. They are presently DOING THE EXTRAORDINARY.

Matt Duffie and Jesse Bromwich are Kiwi reps. I'm sure Dane Nielsen played for Queensland. Hoffman and Ryles played rep football, too. And Widdop is a Pom Test player.

Three world-class players only? I don't think so.

Agreed, you know I was at the forefront of accusing (Freemasonic/Satanic) insiders behind News Limited, NRL, etc... Many a professional career should have been destroyed if a discovery was not severely compromised with critical evidence (and discovery of circumstances that would incriminate many a perpetrator) being pushed under the rugs.
Arseholes with deep pockets caused the salary cap scandal, they were the ones who offered the players $$$$$$. Players deserve every cent they can earn from their severely battered body careers BUT there comes a time when you just have to acknowledge the brilliance of Smith, Cronk and Slater. You can see why the salary cap perpetrators did everything possible to keep the magnificent trio in Melbourne. If we had a salary cap like the one we have now back in 81 to 86 do you think we could have kept our superstar squad together all those years.... Ella, Grothe, Sterling, Kenny, Cronin, Price...etc?????

I want to hear more about the Freemasonic / Satanic insiders please?

There's no denying he's a great player. The point is they are an cheating illegal side. So it's hard to know how they would have gone if they weren't cheats.

It's not that hard... You just look how qld has gone with them in a no salary cap context.

But I agree with the main thesis that Melbourne are a bunch of salary cap cheating, grapple tackling grubs who have been handed a free ride on a silver platter by news and the nrl. They represent a sell out of the heartland of rugby league and the game itself. I've never seen it better illustrate than after the 2009 grand final when the cap cheating merkins got us on the back of a dud decision and their 2000 pretend fans were represented by Molly Meldrum running onto the field.

Cronk is an average, run-of-the-mill half. Without Smith and Slater and some well drilled big boppers making him look good, his name would barely ever be mentioned.

Smith would be the titans captain right now and storm would not have won anything if they didnt cheat the cap.

And if we are talking about basis towards the storm, how did not one player or coaching staff member get suspended for the salary cap cheating - gee the players were signing two contracts and surely coaching staff had some involvement in negotiating the contracts. The nrl turned a blind eye after the cheating was exposed as they knew if the involvement of some was exposed, the storm would be in serious trouble if not dead.

Yet when he plays for QLD and Aus, the same rules apply except there are even better players than the Storm have.

NSW must target him. He should be terrified of touching the footy in SOO lest someone stomp his head into the turf.

Most overrated half in history. People talking about him being an immortal should be taken out into the street and shot.

I think we all know why. Remind me who owned the game, who owned most of the media, and who owned the Storm in 2009?

In my eyes the fact that the Storm players cheated everybody for four seasons pretty much invalidates any other achievements that they accumulate in the game. I'm not denying that they are great players, but I don't enjoy watching them play and I can't wait for them to leave the game. I feel the same way about Bellamy.
