Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! we will see.
Like to see him play 1 game at least.

There is 1 thing I hate and can't stand is when we develop these kids and they leave without out playing a first grade game, go to another club make there debut and get classed as there jnr. like Maloney at the storm and mannah at the sharks.

So in other words leave our mark on them? might as well just lift our leg on Albert. haha

Wonder if people will stop bagging the kid out.
surely that quote roughly translates to, I want parra to show me the money? ..... i wouldn't blame him for leaving for a big wad of cash - same situation as tony williams really - loyalty will be if he turns down more $$$s to stay, not just talking

Good luck to the kid and if he's as good as he seems to think he is, and the many others around here do as well, I hope we at least get to see him have a run in 1sts.

I mean if Albert, his manager and his pop think he's ready then Ando had better pull his finger out :sarcasm:

I hope that now that the season is all but over for Parra making the semi finals that Ando starts playing Albert in firsts. Robson is not ever going to be our long term solution at half so therefore why persist? Bring in Kelly and see first hand what the kid can do. Surprisingly our forwards are good enough to give him the space and the protection he needs. After all I keep reading that statistically Parra are the 3rd highest for metre eaters in the comp. I don't expect him to be an overnight success, but if he is to become a good to great player then we will see glimpses in him that may suggest just that, especially towards the back end of the season as he gets more comfortable with the speed and intensity of the NRL.

In saying all of this imo I think the kid will struggle to make it in 1st grade. I somehow don't think he is up to it mentally or physically. For example he is very small and is not exactly built to handle week in week out high intensity football. And from a mental point of view, he is all show pony so far, struggling to knuckle down and be a team player. This I believe is evident in the way he drops in and out of games regularly and can't seem to put in for the entire game on a regular basis. I know he is only young and things can drastically change in a young mans life and therefore probably the main reason why I want Ando to play him in Firsts.

I want Kelly to play in the toughest RL competition in the world so as he can see that it isn't that easy and that even if he possesses all the natural talent in the world, only hard work and dedication will allow him to succeed at this level. If by some miracle he is a success from the outset then good for him and even better for Parra...I hope. But either way both parties have little to lose and much to gain.

Hypothetical: Parra 24 - Broncos 22
Albert Kelly MOTM. Sets up winning try in a freakish allround performance.
Do we then go hard at signing him?
We have to see whether he really is a freak in first grade.
Past players will tell you that the transition from firsts and eventually rep footy comes all so quickly for those very special players. Give him a run and let's find out..

Also, Daniel Anderson gives me the impression that he considers youngsters with a good work ethic and commitment to the cause just as much as players who have talent. Maybe the reason why Morts got a gig before AK.

remember a guy called David Penna.

He did something like scored tries in Under 21s, then Reserves and the Firsts all on one day. I also recall that he scored alot of tries in one match in reserves or under 21

It took him ages to cement a 1st grade spot (and I think that was at Souths) and although he did play for Parra at 7, he by any means was not a SUPER STAR.

This albert kelly sounds similar.

I agree with RAM. Throw him in on the bench.

See how he goes. If he finds it tough, he would probably stay and work harder.

It was against Souths at the SFS, in the early nineties. He has a good day, although Parra got smashed in first grade.
