So will Gallop get this fixed before ANZAC day?

Why do people keep saying the damage was accidental? The photos show the chairs are upturned and some are thrown into the next row. Did fans accidentally pick up the chairs and throw them?

And no sports are allies and so sports are trying to destroy other sports. It's not a god damn battle.

I'm not impressed with the WSW fans for a number of reasons but it's clear to me the seats collapsed under the heaving weight of big groups of people, not for sheer vandalism.

This will do me

Here is a suggestion, don’t jump up and down on the seats.

Can someone please explain to me the myth that is the wanderers "success"?

They averaged 12,400 to their home games this year. That is less than all bar 2 NRL sides last year (canberra and penrith). This happened in their inaugural season - always a crowd booster - and on the back of a 10 game winning streak. I won't even bother with their regular season TV ratings, but their "historic" home semi managed to attract under about a sixth of the national audience of the NRL match being played at the same time.

In other words, they are getting crowd figures and TV numbers that would be utter poison to an NRL club.... yet somehow are the model that all clubs around the country across all codes should be modelling themselves on.

Will be interesting to see if they managed to turn a profit this season. My crystal ball says no.

And theres the point - they have a point of difference they cheer they sing and they involve everyone for the whole game - not just "sharkies" clap clap clap. There is no way they would of got media coverage if there wasnt anything to write about.

No chance and by that i mean not even close. And for you to actually write that shows youre hurt.

I love league but there is no way the wanderers support hasnt been amazing. On a Tuesday at lunch time they blocked off the town centre after they lost. To me thats fantastic. I would love to see that happen in league.

St George blocked off streets and had a giant parade BEFORE the finals series began in 2005. Newcastle had fans lining the f**king highway for 50km to show their support when the team bus left on the way to the 1997 grand final.

Media coverage don't pay the bills, and media coverage isn't going to keep the fans showing up if/when they have a poor season.

These "huge" and "passionate" crowds didn't start turning up at these games until the winning streak was well and truly on its way. Prior to that it was just a few hundred idiots behind the goal posts doing all the jumping and back turning. It was only once the band wagon got on board that the atmosphere was developed, and that is solely due to their on field performances.

Lets not forget they had plenty of 4 digit crowds turn up this season when they were languishing down the bottom of the table. No articles were being written about their amazing die hard fans and crowd atmosphere then.

Before the 1976 GF, 100 000 people lined church street to see the Eels team.

You wouldnt ever see it in Manly because it's too far for their supporters to drive from Brookvale.

no one here has said that the destruction was a good thing!!!!! ](*,)
I never said they did you gronk.

A few have passed it off as atmosphere though, which was my point. PR for starters. And Big Skirt -

All you nonces complaining about the "atmosphere" at the A-League Grand Final are either delusional, jealous or just plain dumb......

.........

NRL clubs would dream of that sort of attendance and atmosphere at a regular season game.

I really feel for Soccer fans in Western Sydney and the game in general.

They have had a great season in terms of on field success in terms of the Wanderers.

For the moment they get great press coverage save for a few OpEd slots about the f**kwit minority in the fan base.

But this is the easy time. You are only contracted to FTA and are run by that very organisations favourite lacky/stooge.

Wait until the administrators want to grow their game, implement a degree of FTA coverage and start demanding bigger TV deal dollars. Once that happens your code will be buried under an avalanche of divisive articles looking to devalue your code and whip up a media shitstorm. It will go back and use NSL comparrissons and stock footage of broen seats and flares and all the "active supporter" sook rants on forums about security companies.

Then when your code needs him the most watch the mumbles start from Mr. Gallop. He will be nowhere for you and take a back seat while his real masters do as they please

Comprehension not a strong point Loudy??

The first quote was in reference to people complaining about the poznan, and the "endless chanting".

The second was about the clip I posted from Youtube of the FSU seminoles fans in attendance at a regular season game.

Clearly they show that I approve of breaking chairs, and I also approve of breaking fences.

Well done.

I would argue it does - more coverage means more interest means more sponsors bigger crowds, gate takings, memberships merchandise etc. Look it might fail next year i dont know - but seems to be a lot on here bagging a very succesful beginning for a club that didnt even exist a year ago.

If you read anything in the DT, it suggests that the NRL should be learning from this club as a beacon, when from all key indicators, it lags well behind any NRL club.

I think News Ltd has given orders to try and promote A-League at any opportunity. Especially at the expense of Rugby League, which is why A-League stuff (well Wanderers) appears so often in NRL articles.

And why Murdoch personally gave the code $20m last week for junior development.

What's the big deal if the FFA is increasing its association with News? They're obviously happy to suckle Uncle Rupert's teat for a while and the NRL's happy they got rid of News. So everybody's happy.

i have made this point on numerous comment pages, (the roar, telegraph, herald) The telegraph won't care though, they are going to back there mate dave to the hilt, so expect this to continue. e.g. why was league journo dean ritchie (and i use journo loosely) doing an interview with gallop! plenty of good news stories in league to chase that they just ignore the scumbags
