Can I just ask why anybody would still want us to sign him? If he came here it would clearly be as a last resort and I could see him and Madge clashing imminently. I'd give it about a 20% chance of ending on good terms.
We definately should not sign him, it just makes me want to vomit that souffs get their man again.

I think a deal with Latrell / Souths was done a long time ago. Hence why he never lifted a finger to make contact with us.

I reckon the new manager had a deal stitched up with South months ago and this whole charade has been about burning every other bridge so the old manager will let him go. New manager comes in and hey presto we have a deal with Souths. Bennett does all the denials so old manager doesn't get paid and everyone is happy. I really don't like all these dodgey tactics. I hope he is rubbish for them.

This again makes no logical sense. New manager screws Latrell over 600k this season and himself as well because he isn't getting the same commission on a 400k contract compared to a million contract.

The only possible explanation is gross incompetence.

It’s been a big game from day one, played out by a couple of managers, a heap of “hanger on nospam46” and a few club officials. Poor Trell thought he was the one pulling the strings but at the end of the day he was just been fed crap.

Of course the perfect result now would be the salary cap auditor to show some balls and put a value of 800 plus on Trell’s head, given the Chooks offered 800 and we offered a million. Souths to run out of cap space and we tell Trell to get on his bike. Leaving him with his contract at the Chooks hopefully playing reggies

Well, maybe not tell him to get on his bike....:D We could use his talent.
Lets just get into the 8, before we become so high & mighty.

I don't really want him longer either, but if he came back it would be hard to say f**k off.

You seem to have overlooked a few things.
You assume that the deal can't be back ended, or doesn't involve paper bags, besides new manager would be happy to have a cut of 400k as opposed to a whole lot of nothing. If Latrell signs with him then just like a club signing him if helps him sign other players. He would sacrifice a little short term money to to do this, His new manager is a boxing promoter, you reckon he wouldn't be saying fight in the off season to pocket some cheap cash, I'll even help you organise it. Mr Manger now has another source of income to help make up the short fall.

A little of topic but originally JAC was doing his own managing after parting with his existing manager, it seems now that he is moving in under Rose's umbrella aswell. I also read somewhere that he is looking for at least a 200k upgrade on his current storm contract.
Although I'd be happy for the club to make him a significant offer It does make me wonder about a few things, such as if he wanted to leave for emotional and family issues you would imagine he'd be happy just to leave on equal payments and not actually milk the situation for more...and secondly is he also playing sack the manager games to link up with Rose and the Souff Sydney camp for more money and using the whole family thing as a get out clause.

Do you know how much he was / is on at the storm by any chance ?

If we are being rational the deal which has been reported is a joke. The deal is a one year deal for $400k. Assuming that is the case Latrell is the one taking on all the risk here which is irrational.

If there are paper bags that is different however the NRL should be aware of this and just put Latrell on the roster for $1 million. I'd also state it is unlikely to the tune of $600k.

You make some good points but again there are holes galore. The new manager can now do a deal with the Tigers and get the top dollar. He can still do the things you mention in relation to boxing. I'd also state his reputation takes a hit to prospective clients as he is costing his client a tonne of money.

This Rose guy reeks to me. I'd love to see JAC here but we should be very careful in our dealings with this guy. JAC should accept the same or less unless this is a money grab.

JAC should accept the same or less.....why?
I am thinking we should be offering him more.

My point is that if this is about a family movement then the money shouldn't be everything. He will probably get paid well and maybe even get a pay rise.

I don't see why we have to get involved in a circus though.

If I was JAC I'd be looking for a much bigger pay day as well. I would love to see him in orange and black.

He is a winger. A top quality winger but he can't be expecting spine money.
I reckon around $500k a season, its what he will achieve for us that makes him worth the bucks.
1. Speed and results
2. Other players will want to come.
3. He will want to be here.
