Grail said:yes, see my initial response to this. many others have said the same kind of thing as well. Mateo is more of a playmaker, whereas SBW is more of a ballplaying backrower (an exceptionally gifted one mind you, but he couldn't slot into the halves).

Stagger eel said:true, but I think SBW can make a real fist of 6 if it came to the crunch.
they offer different things, MAteo is definately better for Parramatta then SBW would be (for all the reasons Baz said). It also depends on what your measures for the best player are, I personally think consistency is vital, Mateo wins there, I refuse to say that either player is "better" they are both good players who offer different things to a team. I response to the question:Grail said:Question: has anyone who has voted for Mateo actually said that they think he is a better player than SBW? Or is it more likely that those kicking up a stink about people voting for Mateo have only dreamed this in their weird, fevered imaginations....
I would definately take Mateo, because we are considerring all factors not just who is "better"abpanther said:Simple question, if you could have one of these players right now in your side who would it be and why considering all factors

i'm not putting sh*t on Feleti, i think he is a great talent and will be a great player - he is just not in the same class as SBW. As has been mentioned, Sonny's been carving it up since he was 18 and he is only 22 now. Mateo is 24 and only just starting to carve it up. Imagine SBW in 2 years time?
how hard is it to play for NZ again...? whilst i agree SBW is a freak and an unreal player...Captain BF said:Despite his injuries, so far SBW has done so much. Played international footy and won a comp. I think in time Mateo will achieve both as well.
your right about certain positions... but not the backrow...sooperdooper said:how hard is it to play for NZ again...? whilst i agree SBW is a freak and an unreal player...
to buy into 'he is an international for NZ' thats a joke as it is not to hard to get a start there
SBW would walk into any team in the world....
Mr. Fahrenheit said:if SBW performed at his peak as often as Mateo does, then SBW... but the fact remains that Mateo is the consistent performer, so i'm going with Mateo.
