Yep I can't understand how BTR can say it is settled when it has been a major weakness for us for the past few years. A weak back line is always far from being settled.

The only two positions in the back line which you can class as settled at this stage would be Gardner at Fullback and Carney at 5/8.

The only other player who would have strong claims to having a spot guaranteed is Colin Best at Centre.

For the rest of them stake your claim!

I'd say your on the money their slayer.

Except the bit about Best - he's no spring chicken or world beater.

I'm no Best fan either, but given our current state especially in that position, it looks a given.

I'm still having nightmares about Best Vs the broncos. The worst and most cat like performance of a first grade footballer for some time.

Words reserved for David Simmons.

If your talking about the Brisbane game I agree.

I also don't know how Matt Wright got dropped from centre the week after.

If we dont buy another centre between now & rnd 1, pom will be the Right centre & Best will be the left. That is guaranteed.
The only position that is really up for grabs is one wing spot. Hot Dog will be one side because of his height & catch & kicking. Stapo would be the next in line however, I think they are both right wingers. Mills is also a right winger. The Wright experiment on wing seemed to be over last year. Ike Status is unknown & he is a left winger.Gards will be fullback. Careny will be 5/8 & Robson will be halfWho else is there? Chad? Please. Kelly? Probably gornski as he is still stood down.

I wouldn't rule out chad over robson, far from a forgone conclusion. Mills should never be played on the wing. He is a centre only. Put him at right centre and best on the left, have best and carney reunite and chad and mills continuing their 10+ years combo on the right. Wings any of ike, williams, stapo. Matt wright in reserve grade forever. I think we need some wing depth. Any of the reserves/toyota cup guys worth a shot?

Chad MUST get first crack at halfback.

The club knows it, the coach knows it and most importantly TC wants it!!

I've solved the Centre Problem. He's Big, he's fast, he's a thinker and he knows the game backwards

For me, I would show a bit more loyalty to the 'young uns'. I think Chad can only improve with Carney to take a bit of the spotlight and pressure off him. Mills would be my first centre chosen with either Pom or Best (hate to say it but I feel pom offers slightly more than best if only he can hold the fkn ball). I must be in the minority because i think Stapo had a really solid year last year with the exception of 2 shockers....but he wasn't robinson crusoe there. He consistently carries a couple of defenders with him when returning the ball and is safe under the high ball. Hot dogs on the other wing and looking forward to Gards back to his best minus the injuries of last year. For me leaves Best, Ike, Frizzel, Taga and Albert as back-up with the latter two on the bench to add a bit of strike-power. (providing Kelly sorts himself out)

I can remember reading somewhere Flanno saying that Carney and Graham were working really well together. So what's the plan for him if Robson / Chad are the choices. ?

A few people have said they have it on good authority he will start at lock.

For mine the only two things Robson has over Townsend at this stage is better defense and experience.

But I think the sooner they pair up Townsend with Carney the better.

Do youse reckon that someone might even do a "Tonya Harding" in the changerooms.

Geeze it could be on for young and old.
