There's a few comments floating around...
Low crowd- if you've been notoriously poor for the last 15 years on and off field, and you're hosting an out of country team, 6000 is acceptable. Regardless, the crowd looked a 6000 type crowd from inside the crowd. I think that so many keep turning up week in week out regardless is a testament to those particular people's loyalties to that club. Once the club is turned around off field and begins to gain success on field, they can be the pride of the league again.
Something is wrong at Souths, but change doesn't happen overnight. Doesn't in any organisation, never has, never will, for those that sometimes achieve change overnight its more by luck and is a short term process. The long term processes if they are right will turn the club around. Don't judge the new regime within a week or two of their inauguration.
Their defence was terrible, of that there is no doubt. They need a good halfback. Certainly. And they coughed up plenty of ball. But don't discredit the Warriors, they were efficient and ruthless. They had pride in their line, they had passion in their runs, security in their handling and good vision and communication. The focus should be on applauding them, not tormenting Souths.
For those South Sydney fans who stuck it out to the end of the game, good for you. It is the likes of you who through thick and thin stick with your club, and when success comes you'll be the moral fibre behind the reforming of the Pride of the League motto. Stick with it.
To those farkwits digging into the Rabbitohs, if your side hasn't attained success on or off the field in 15 years, and play an out of country side, would your club attract 6,000 people? Unless you support Newcastle or Brisbane, highly unlikely. Lets give this new regime a chance to turn their club around FFS.
