show us this fact.
Crowds dont make a club, they are only a very small part.
Cronulla's crowd in 2008 finishing 3rd (equal 1st): 12 965

Adeliades crowd in 1997 finishing 9th out of 10th: 15 330

Of course there are plenty of other factors involved. The wheels fell right off Adelaide in 1998 with distrous off-field and on-field performances against the backdrop of the Super League-ARL merger, but you'd think given the right conditions and support they'd be if not successful, far better than your bottom end Sydney club.

Partial relocation with 6 games in cronulla and 6 games in adelaide?

Might as well merge St George and Cronulla, get them to play 12 games at OKI, then create another team to play 6 games in Woolongong and 6 games in Adelaide. Makes more sense doesn't it?

Point missed is not that you are transferring 15,000 Cronulla fans for 15,000 Adelaide fans but hopefully you keep the bulk of Cronulla fans and DOUBLE them by adding Adelaide fans. 12,500 in Cronulla and 15,000 in Adelaide with the current Cronulla sponsors PLUS new SA sponsors adds up to a much healthier scenario for the long term survival prospects of Cronulla (or whichever Sydney team is in danger of going under).

Add to that a new NRL "initiative" grant of $1million a year for clubs willing to do this and suddenly we have a national game and vibrant Sydney clubs. Worth a consideration surely? Cronulla fans get to watch 6 home games + 6 Sydney based away games and Adelaide fans get 7 home games. The NRl gets a national league and better moeny deals becasue of it, everyones a winner!

If you believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden! They would more likely retain about 3000-4000 sharks fans and aquire 5000 yokels from Adelaide. The RAMs lost most of their fans with the bodies in the barrels affair.
