I think that the whole damned thing is madness and though I?ve held my tongue on the subject for a while I?m having some massive problems understanding what the hell Steve Price is doing and as a corollary, what the hell the club is doing hanging on to him.

? Fein is not a halfback; he?s not playing like a half back. He doesn?t have the passing game, kicking game or running game of a halfback. He panics under pressure and doesn?t have enough pace. Okay, in an emergency he can fill in but he does not have the skill set to manage the task week in week out
? Mitch Rein has no kicking game nor an adequate passing game and his number of DH runs lately has also fallen substantially. This is primarily because he is so easy to read that he is constantly tagged. Doesn?t Price realise that the only game that we have won in the past half dozen or so was without Mitch Rein?
? Nobody is capable of delivering a manageable pass at the line which is one reason why the entire team looks like lost sheep in attack
? The fact that Soward won?t take the ball to the line and that Fein lacks the pace or size to break the line means we can create the doubt that gives our backline movements any chance maintain momentum. Defences can slide with impunity.
? There are any number of options (IMO) that would work better than Price?s current formula. Fein to hooker (he?s the best hooker that we have FFS). Soward to half (where he is closer to the line from the getgo. King or Stanley or Dugan or anyone at 5/8 who has a bit of size but who hopefully has soft enough hands to put the likes of Creagh and Cooper into gaps at the line

Steve Price has not shown me in one single game that he is capable of coaching at NRL level. Please feel free to give me examples if I?m incorrect here.

Soward is not the problem
Prior is not the problem
Vidot is not the problem
Fein is not the problem
Stanley is not the problem
Discipline is not the problem
Attitude is not the problem

Put a team together is that is playing where they are supposed to be playing
Give them some structure

Coach them and give the fans something that isn?t embarrassing rubbish

sure the roster is not a premiership winning roster, however a half decent coach would still be able to extract a better performance from the same group of players.. as you said with some simple structure and more importantly making sure every player on the field understands the role they need to perform during the match.
from what i have seen it seems players dont even have that understanding anymore..

I thought Drinkwater was hired because he was a gun under 20's player and an up and comer for halfback. Why doesn't he get a chance if the halves aren't going well? Been waiting all year to see how he will go and its not as if the team could play any worse. As mentioned above playing players in their best position would seem fundamental to me.

They definitely are part of the problem (Vidot does my head in), but the bigger problem is what Cagey articulated very well, its why we feel the problems start with Price and his player selection, he picks at the start of the year and refuses to change when the players dont perform.

The only positive move I have seen is Garvey into Cutters, meaning hopefully he is actually accelerating a young player through the system.. but.. he goes ahead and starts Rein when fit, so perhaps its actually King that he doesnt have faith in.

We have the worst halves in the comp, and when Rein gets big minutes, one of the worst hookers. I agree that Price has not proven himself at all as a quality coach (though there have been occasional glimpses - when the halves play well), but I honestly doubt anyone could do much more with what he has.

Soward has not been playing well. I'm saddened that things seems to have imploded in this way and his brilliant career in the red v will end like this... but it may be best for the team. Especially if we land a good justin case signing.

Was exactly the same last year. Kyle, De Belin and King were our 3 top rookies who would have benefited immensely from game time in the top grade. Instead, he stuck to a team that was incapable of scoring points and had no chance making the 8. Hornby, Young and Fien played every week....was the big picture really taken into account?

It's not just the mounting losses that disappoints me. Its the manner of how we play the game. Boring, unimaginative and rudderless. No skill, no flair and the most unattractive team to watch in the whole comp.

Dugan looks completely out of place in this team as he is the only player to display any attacking skills. Hope that changes with the new guys next year.

Although with Price at the helm, I'm not holding my breath.

All due respects Rev, but I just can't see how he is looking to the future when he keeps Fien at half Prior in the centres, except for Green all he has done is move players from one position to another. I am so glad I'm not a Quinlan, Drinkwater, Runciman etc. because I think I would be looking elsewhere.

This obviously isn't a drop him to lift his game dropping. It's a spiteful one in the way it came about, we have a worse halves combination going into this game as a result.

He won't be back. Given the timing, they're obviously giving the Panthers 3 weeks to try and find some cap space.

Whilst I understand where you are coming from, you are being a little over dramatic and one eyed when it comes to Price. He inherited your squad, like Matt Elliot at Warriors, like Stuart at Parra and Potter at Tigers. If you want to blame someone, blame Doust, he has been at the helm for years and should of known better and not allowed your squad to go stale. I also think Bennett left your club in a vunerable position and now it appears he was no more than a mercanary.
