Prior was let go and they kept Harrison, honestly what does this guy actually offer nothing and Hunt he has never been the same since his injury I won't question his courage or effort but he isn't a starting prop.

Merrin dropped kg's to play lock yet he isn't one his play the balls are just to slow and he still wants to off load silly passes when its better to just hang onto the ball.

I like most of the forward back but they are to much alike alot of hard toliers who work hard but just don't have that real spark I'll never question their toughness more the desire and sometimes attittude.

Piss off Craig Young for a guy of his ilk for some odd reason the forwards have gone slightly backwards in skill level and attittude.

Get rid of the entire coaching staff except Dean Young and Hornby who have footy Smarts. Bring in a real coach and assistants.

Fair enough BRV. I doubt he will be sacked either.

Whilst we are missing 1-2 players up front, we now have a team where 6-7 players are either rep or marquee level.

Morris
Dugan
Nighty
Widdop
Merrin
Marshall
Creagh
Beale

add to that
JDB / Frizell / etc.

If this group doesnt make the 8 (as a min), he has failed.
Thoroughly agree.

Give Millward a go is doing a fine job with the Cutters not totally sure who he has as his assistants these days I think its Shane Millard and Dane Dorahy.

The guy has done alot in the ESL and has alot more going for him than Price does.

I think Stockwell needs to just run hard and find the ground for quick play the balls like he did last year.
I think he looks like he is over thinking things.
Debellin is going ok but needs to start being more consistent.
These guys are the future but they need someone to show them the way.
They are only young FFS.

2nd year syndrome buddy.
JDB is a future star IMO.
Stockwell has it all, but for some reason "goes missing" .

I posted some time ago Brissy that Stockwell would be a rep player.
Like you, thus far this year, he has let me down. Wonder if he's injured?
He has it all, tall, mobile, off loads and plays plenty of minutes.

Who knows, if doesn't Doust have another surprise pre June 30?

Stockwell has been total crap

Stockwell doesn't have the meat on him. He is like those stick figures you see on the back of 4WD's.
Maybe in a couple of years he can bulk up a bit. Doesn't lack ticker, but is never going to break a tackle.
I fear he will be snapped in half by a JWH or the like.

Really ?

Sometimes we have to look behind the headlines.
This is one good forward.

depends what you are after... headlines or stability.
Stockwell aint going anywhere.
He and JDB are the future.

The club should have kept Prior over a few others, he was a workhorse and good in defense.

Maybe we need to stop with this 'future stars' talk...they need a few seasons of first grade to really see how they go. Very few NYC guys hit the straps straight away and even though will sometimes be hot and cold, some exceptions are Cherry Evans, Reynolds, and I think Brooks at the Tigers.

You all just need to relax. If you think Price and his staff will be sacked this year I think you will all be sadly disappointed and the continual bagging of our coaching will all be for naught. Go back to repeating the same rhetoric if his 2nd year option gets picked up. Until then, you may as well just go review one of the 6782 threads that repeat the exact same comments as in here.

Yeah I agree, it's rediculous to keep bagging Price and Doust on every decision, mostly cos not everyone agrees its wrong. If they do nothing then people whinge, if they do something then people whinge. They are both here to stay for this season. When there is talk of resigning or looking for a new coach lets have our 2 cents worth then. I know we are all frustrated with the performances but until then lets support our team and club

100%! Individual performances havent been that bad either, we have just been on the backfoot the whole comp so far. Can anyone guess why???? Will I say it again???

You can blame the coaching staff for alot of things but the players have to take some responsibility to.

On field performances in terms of discpline and respect for the ball comes down to them and thats just as big apart of the problem that anything else.

Price can be blamed for picking serial offenders like Hunt but a guy like him with the experience he has should know better mind you he's not the only one you can look right across the squad and nearly every player does some really stupid things at times.

If Price showed a little more discipline himself and drop out of form players regardless of who they are he may gain a little more respect.

I agree you can't blame Price for everything like dropped balls and poor ref decisions. Even missed tackles the accountability should be with the player and they should show some pride in the jumper.

I was expecting a bit more from Stockwell personally. He had a pretty good season last year for a young fella, and I thought another preseason he may have put a bit more muscle on which would make it easier for him. Sadly, not the case.

Groat I thought as well may have been a good pick up. He has the size, but he does not use it and the potential energy he could use if he actually ran hard.

And the other big fella we brought Aioli, he looks ok, but he is no Sam Moa.

Stockwell was out injured for the 1st 4 games and he doesnt seem to have the same intensity when he takes the ball up. I think he has all the attributes of a very good front rower and hopefully he'll fire up a bit but certainly I expect him to break out next year.

Don't get me started on Groat, he is in no way an athlete in any description and has zero mongrel. I'm not saying he can't turn it around but if he keeps showing up the way he does he will be out of a job. Currently he's not good enough for NSW Cup.

It's natural that Ailaomai would be compared with Moa as they look similar but their playing styles are a little different. Moa is smaller and seems much quicker with good leg speed before and after contact. Ailaomai is quite powerful just the same, I was at the game last Sunday at Wyong and watched him closely. He made a lot of yards and even a LB and you could feel the defense panic a lil and when he got the ball they tried to come in numbers but he caught a few of them out 1 on 1 or even 1 on 2 and busted tackles. He does have an error or 2 in him though and I have to think thats the only thing keeping him out of FG as personally I would be giving him some short stints of the bench. He seemed to defend quite well but that being said the game is much quicker at NRL level

Besides Priors poor handling I actually thought he was pretty solid and bent the line in his last season or so. He got a pretty bad deal being put in the centres, honestly that was the dumbest thing I've seen a coach do.

Merrin made a lot of silly offloads last year but I dont agree in regard to this year. I think hes much more selective and its just if he drops the ball people assume he was trying to make an offload which has happened once or twice, then people have in their heads here we go again. His play the balls have always been the slowest in the league as he's hard to put down and struggles in the tackle, on a positive we have been the beneficiaries of some late offloads that have produced tries. Knowing when to hit the ground and when to fight the tackle is an area he can improve. I have pointed this out before though in regard to our defense that we should be keeping their players on their feet for longer rather than letting them hit the ground on top of us. It slows down the play the ball Merrin like and you cant get penalized before tackle is completed, so just as u think hes going to call held then u drag the player down

The forwards will look much better when we control the ruck and hence field position, I really think we only need one more big body but they have to be Marquee, not just someone cos they are big but in the mean time give Ailaomai a run in place of Hunt.

I have serious questions like you over Alberts coaching ability. He was a great player but they game is played differently these days and while I'm sure he's kept up with it I'm just as sure he still sees it his old school way. It may be part of the reason we have so much one out hit ups (as well as field position). He wasnt very successful as a FG coach either

Millwood had a good run with St Helens 2000-2005 but check out his more recent record before appointing him coach. Not all the NSW Cup are feeder teams and we have a fair few players with NRL experience. Below is his win %

2000–05 St Helens 75%
2005–06 Wigan 25%
2008–11 North Queensland 14%
2012 Castleford 24%
