Hayne does a headbutt = Sanity should prevail & Hayne should play Origin.

O'Donnell does a headbutt = Should be a send-off. Gould said " If this was at club level he'd be sent off..... "

In fairness, Hayne hadnt put on a disgraceful tackle in the preceding incident, or the punch that O'Donnell followed with.

Hayne should've been suspended though.

i think the send-off call was more for the dangerous tackle, though Phil does like to magnify things by about 1000% (that's a conservative estimate). later in the match he was talking about how it is Origin and you want to see players hit high, punches thrown, etc.

I thought he was talking about the tackle...

He was being a dickhead though, easy to sit on the sidelines and criticise without offering any solutions at all.

It was the only moment I was proud to be a NSW supporter. Sure it was dirty as hell but the look on LOD's face was inspiring. Too bad the rest of the geniused nuffy boys club don't have his passion... Gallen aside maybe.

The tackle was woeful though, and Dave Taylor was an unfortunate victim, but he was just trying to get the game into a bashing type game rather than aerial ping pong.

Yes! I totally agree! When I saw it, I was like, "FINALLY! NSW will fire up and push back!"

Instead they bent over, pulled their trousers down, oiled up, and...You know...

After seeing that I hope the rumours about LOD heading to Parra are real. I love that sort of aggressive bloke.

i don't think the LOD headbutt went anywhere near landing - and it hardly had any force

and tbh I am not even sure the spear would have been what it ended up being if Hindy wasn't around hte top dragging down

we had some Gould classics tonight. One moment he is suggesting there is NSW players sat at home who could do a better job and should be given a chance, next he is saying part of NSW's problems are they keep swapping the team around!

I thought Hayne did get suspended. He didn't seem to be on the field for Origin II. Was he actually playing, or was he drinking with Tahu? :sarcasm:

Still made more runs and metres than any other player in the NSW side. Despite limited oppurtunities to excel due to our lack of go forward from our front rower (s)

All he wants is what we all want. Pick the best players in their positions from game one and stick with them. Its really simple but the selectors confuse themselves by thinking "oh this player works well with this player, this players an origin player, that player is the future, the Telegraph likes this player"

Wow he must have played heaps well because he made 137 metres from 18 runs and 3 tackle breaks.

Kurt Gidley made 197 metres from 21 runs, 10 tackle breaks, a try-assist and a linebreak in Game 1 at fullback. And he copped an absolute pasting in here.

Those stats you provided mean absolutely nothing.

And no, I don't think Kurt Gidley should be the NSW fullback...

I loved the way they (Commentary Team) pounced on Gallen for the swinging arm. Just before Gallen planted his one, there was a nice shot on Hayne that went undetected.

There were more swinging arms, high shots and elbows in the face, third man in and more during that game. Yet Gallen swings a good one and you'd of thought he had just dropped the Pope.

But then again he should of played a brilliant back row forward style of game like Benny Crieghs.

Cheers

Sterlo noticed it and called it "barely high" I believe. The difference was that Gallen hit his victim flush on the chin, whereas Shillington's arm bounced off Hayne's shoulders.
