NEVER TIPPING PARRA AGAIN!!

lol...how can parra lose 44-18, when the panthers halfback wasnt playing for the 2nd half...

looks like parra might be in trouble this season, they have to find their feet fast...

The Eels are usually shocking starters to a season. They will hid their stride in about Round 10.

Massive effort.

I hope Gower is ok.

They were worried about his ribs and his jaw according to the CCT.

He was in a bad way and I don't think he'll be back for a while.

You reckon?

You don't know anything about Peter Wallace...quality young five-eight.

don't forget...we've kept Parra SCORELESS in the second half and scored 24 points without Gower

I like to think. after the way the Storm have played last week I'd like to think any hinderance in the Penrith side is going to give us a leg up. Slater will be amply covered by Ingliss or Turner next week but it'd be interesting to see how Cronk goes without Hill.

Have to give it to the Panthers, winning the second half 30-0 against Parra, without their chief playmaker in Gower. If I was a Penrith fan,(which I'm glad I'm not :p) I'd be over the moon.

Honestly...i'm nearly in tears...that was one of the best displays of character i've ever seen from a Penrith side.

Luke Lewis should be the other Aussie centre outside Mark Gasnier

Justin Hodges would be way ahead of him. Hell, maybe I'm a bit biased but Matt Gidley is infront of Luke Lewis. But If I were to pick two centres it would be Hodges and Gasnier.

Great show of character and determination by Penrith.

How disgusting were the Parra gronks booing Gower while he was coughing up blood.

I agree but don't they both play the same side?

Yep, they both play right centre. I'm pretty sure that the one of them could handle the left centre position with ease though.

Great effort by Penrith, woeful effort by Parra.

I think you'll find we fans (at least myself and those around me) had no idea he was coughing up blood. It seemed like an innocuous sort of hit, not really late at all and certainly not with any savage intent, so the home fans (as any set of opposition fans does at a game) gave it to him, told him to "get up ya mug" etc.

Like I say, myself and those around me had no idea it was a serious injury, and expected him to come on five minutes after the penalty. When we saw him being wheeled off to the hospital with an oxygen mask on, it was certainly a shock.

I wish Gower all the best with his recovery, and personally extend my deepest apologies for calling him a "sook" at the time of the incident :( - like I say, the initial contact didn't look all that damaging. Even without Gower, Penrith were too good for us, which is a bit upsetting - says a lot about the character of both sides at the moment.

Nick Eel...sorry but that hit from Marcus...was late and he cocked his elbow at the point of contact with Craigs Chest...to say it wasn't intentional was a load of sh*t.

As for calling Gower a sook...well you were entitled to that at the time...but one thing to note about Gower, is that Pound for pound he is the toughest little bugger in the NRL. He doesn't go off the field unless its major. I rememer a game against Newcastle where he dislocated his finger and he just ripped it back into place and went back on and played through it....when your the major ball player that'd hurt a sh*tload. And also 2004.....where he took on Carl Webb head on in a huge hit...Webb was taken from the field and Gower played on. One thing is definite...Gower is not soft.

lay off the magic mushrooms.
That was not intentional and was just one of those things that happens in league.
