Blame Hunt for that, easy catch, dropped the ball then 12 points to the chooks hence I gave him 0 points, does anyone recall he almost cost the game.
CC
Yes it was a set play going down the blind side, creating a bit of space, unfortunately Hunt dropped it , roosters scored not long after .when things aren’t falling for you these things just become regulars. In saying this Hunt was good & part of the reason we won.

Unless we do something about a fullback who can tackle we are looking at the spoon.
Non tackles from the full back has cost us dearly in close games and is a problem that must be addressed.
Good luck with that.

After lifting my hiatus because Hook got sacked I might have to go back into stasis because that was paiiiiiiiinful to watch I honestly don't think much if anything has changed at all will take a minor miracle to avoid the spoon perhaps an all white jersey instead as our way of saying we surrender let's avoid the 80 mins of torture each week. Just take the spoon now and be done with this clown show.

All white jersey a perfect idea considering we will be copping some cricket scores. Very apt.

Ultimately we appear at this stage the most feeble and fragile team in the comp and are paying the price for sitting around with heaps of cap available but nobody with talent wanting to join us. Spoon looks likely still but not a forgone conclusion.

Saints only hope is Dogs and Tigers to lose by bigger margins and Cows continue their bad form. But then again Saints will still have to win a few games which is the bigger issue. July 20 against Tigers and July 29 against Manly are their only chance of a win. They play Warriors twice but apart from that all other games are against top 8 sides. Warriors are a very good side this year so I cannot see Saints winning any games against them. Webster is doing a fantastic job up in NZ.

Barring a review by the bunker on the drop out which was over-turned and changed to a 20m restart, the somewhat lucky captains challenge that went our way, we get absolutely nothing given to us by the referees or touch judges. This has been quite visible since the BBQ-gate saga two years ago.

The penalty which got the score out to 26-12 last night was complete and utter BS.

Make no bones about it - we are well up against it this season. We won't be receiving any favours. I also believe the entire competition is taking great pleasure in our demise. Every team from here on will be pumped up to play us. We've had a great knack over the last 12 seasons of playing teams back into form as well.

Not only do we need to jag a handful of wins against opposition that will likely/comfortably getting finals berths this year, but we will also need the Tigers and Bulldogs to return to poor form sooner rather than later (and I don't see that happening - they have more upside in their respective groups than what we do at the moment).

The way you have put it matPORTS has convinced me that avoiding getting the spoon by the Dragons is going to be a hard task. Not only do we need to win more games but we need either the Tigers, Dogs, Cowboys and possibly the Knights to win less to maybe not get awarded the spoon.

Stone motherless last !
I can’t believe it.
A once great club reduced to this.
Been a fanatical supporter all my life but this really hurts and it’s etched in history now.
Very embarrassing for all supporters.
Don’t know how the players coaches and the board walk around.
We are in a very long tunnel with not much of any light at the end.

The people to blame are the board if they get last not Hook. 1 for the extension of Hook and 2 for letting him continue past last season knowing he will be gone. A wasted off season and a good run of games to start the season which Saints could have possibly won if they had a new coach in place. I am sure they realised they screwed up with the extension, why not pay his out the season instead of let him coach half way through? Terrible choices made.

I cannot remember seeing the Saints come last on the ladder.

That's because the last time the St George Dragons received the spoon was in an 8 team competition in 1938, 9 years before I was born and possibly well and truly before you were born Slippery.

Since Waynes departure, we have fumbled our way through 12 years of incompetence. From appointments as head coach, to extensions of head coaches, to buying used up hasbeens or overpaying for top level players.

I dont blame Mary, Hook, Price, Norman, MBye, etc etc etc...

The Club board is responsible for this mess. Many of us saw this coming, but we had the media beating up our juniors as if we were the next great legacy, and backing coaches who were either out of touch or just out of depth with the modern game.

Face it Saints, we are now not only a divided group, we are irrelevant.

I've been following Saints for near on 5 decades, and never thought a once giant of the code would fade away so easily.

The BOD can all go and get fux&*ed.

They should all bow their heads in shame ....... But that won't happen because they have no shame ......

It’s only happened three times in over 100 years.
