I wonder how that player option for Menko is worded. Surely there would have to be some expectation that he would be able to play in order to take up the option.

In my opinion, if we can't secure N. Brown to a new extended contract then I would be looking at offering Siosifa Talakai from Cronulla a contract.

He is a very dynamic type of player just like Brown and could do the same kind of impact roll that Brown dose for us but much cheaper and he is only 23 years old and coming into his best years. I would guess that we could pick him up for around $300-350K. That would save us a hell of a lot to keep and upgrade some of our other players that will be head hunted soon.

My preferred option of course is to keep Brown, but if it isn't possible, Talakai is a very good substitute and he is coming off contract at the end of this 2021 season.

Also we would need to act fast, before he comes back from injury and if he plays like he did last season, a lot of interest will come his way. Brown needs to hurry the f**k up.
