St george club and area isnt dead, but the first grade side ceased to compete at the end of 1998. St George still exist in SG Ball and below but not in first grade or premier league. Sorry.

Exactly.

They are dead in top flight rugby league.

The St George club ended their own existance when they merged with Illawarra! You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can dream all you like but the fact is St George rugby league club as a single entity died after the 1998 season. THEY ARE NULL AND VOID, KAPUT, DECEACED etc, etc, etc. Your club is now the St George/Illawarra Dragons and they have appeared in one grand final for one loss. The official year book lists St George in the defunct clubs section. Just because one geniused. one eyed St George supporter lists Stg/Illawarra with 15 premierships in a St george/Illawarra publication means SFA! My advice to you is to deal with it and get on with life supporting a very mediocre club! :D

What was the point of this post?

God dont ya just love blokes like this (RC) ok a few points to say about all this the jv between saints and illawarra to everyone's eyes was a take over by saints pure and simple however you look at it. the jv between wests and balmain was just that a joint venture 50/50 split down the middle wests and balmain still play in the premier league and flegg and ball sides much to my displeasure but hey thats life. now as 4 you RC and your little band of cock supporters, tell me this what clubs in order have the biggest junior base in the nrl in sydney????????,worked it out yet ????
try the ILLAWARRA AREA, & WESTS IN CAMPBELLTOWN DISTRICTS!!!!!!!!
Now what junior base have the cocks got mmmmmmm lets see ohhhh yeah kerry packers wallet great junior base that................. and fool gould as the recruiter sh*t he did a great job 4 souths when they came back in the comp didnt he

I care.

League is a tribal game and juniors moving up through the ranks to FG is an integral part of the tribal nature of supporting your team. But by that I mean Juniors moving up through the ranks to play FG for the team that represents the area where they played Juniors, not moving up through the ranks to play for Easts.

Where did Wests 2nd Premier League side finish this year by the way?

In that case because teh game has changed there needs to be a reallocation of junior areas to ensure it is fair and equitable.

Im sick of hearing all this Roosters have no juniors crap. FFS we have no area!!!!

Why should we relocate or merge? We are very succesfull being based at Bondi. For a club which supposedly has no juniors or developed players we seem to supply a hell of a lot of players to the rep teams. There was 2 Easts juniors in the Oz team on Sunday, I didn't see any Dragon's players!

Two?

That's more Easts juniors than you have in your FG side isn't it?

Probably more than you have in your Premier League side too.

One day, within the not too far distant future, you'll be looking at the two merged clubs longingly, wishing that your team had done the same. Easts have money and success for the moment, but that won't last forever and it will be very interesting to see the reaction to a poor season or two.

Let's hope it happens sooner rather than later.

I enjoy the way Easts now out-Manly Manly.

No one plays League in St George anymore... no one? They all play soccer...?
Roosterphin.. at least try and sound like you know whats happening. A good start would be to sit in he corner and nod politely.

In 2003 there were plenty of St George juniors playing in the top two grades...
Ones that spring to mind include Lance Thompson, Mark Riddell, Dean Byrne, Craig Stapleton, Dean Young and Mark Gasnier... all first graders and St George juniors. I've probably forgot a few... plus there's other playing with other clubs. Then there's the loads of juniors from the bush who have been nutured at St George.

I dont think you want to compare it with the Roosters.

I wouldn't know, I follow Wests Tigers.

The Rooster.

Downsides to having a Rooster as your emblem.

The alternative name for a Rooster is Cock.

The Rooster is the National animal of France. A country where snails are grown for food and are considered a delicacy. A country where being saved by ½ the Western World from the clutches of Nazism gives them the right to increase their arrogance levels by 25% whilst accusing everyone else on the planet of being arrogant. A country where a silent but deadly fart is considered an aphrodisiac.

There is a Sporting apparel company called Le Coque Sportif, the English translation of which is “The Sporting Cock”. A Cock involved in sport is one that has had a garlic smelling, sweat drenched, unwashed, beret wearing Frenchman attach metal spikes to it’s feet so that it can tear apart another Cock. Only the French could give reverence to such an animal.

The Rooster is a dangerous animal to humans. But only because the bloody wishbone could get stuck in someone’s gullet and if there’s no one close who knows the Heimlich manoeuvre, they’ll choke to death.

Upsides to having the Rooster as your emblem.

They taste good.

Mark Riddle isn't a junior, Dean Byrne isn't a junior and i think Dean Young is actually from the Illawarra area

Ahhhh Willow it is you that needs to know what is happening.

"Then there is loads of bush juniors who have been nurtured by St George" - why is it then when the Roosters nurture juniors it is called poaching?

Campbelltown hasn't been "The Bush" for 50 years.
