How do you explain the Roosters buying every big name player to stack their roster?

As much as I hate the roosters I dont think they're over the cap as I think they've got shit depth. Outside their top 17 they've got nobodies in their squad. They allocate the most money to their top 17. It worked for a while but with the amount of injuries they seem to be copping its going against them now.

Doesn't explain how they entice the likes of Cronk, SBW, Tedesco, Brandon Smith and God knows hoe many other elite players to choose them over every other club. They're not paying overs for these players, yet they still have them.

Haha I dont know if im willing to get into a discussion defending the Roosters but I see what you're saying. I was just putting it out there that as far as whats been reported one city teams have massive advantages in terms of TPA'S as they don't have any competition for them.

Gold Coast and Newcastle haven't been too successful with TPAs. Broncos were successful with it in the past, but it seems Roosters are the kings of it these days.

That doesn’t mean they should move to Wollongong though. In order to conclude that they should you need to know what the junior participation rates are in the Illawarra region.

Without knowing that and even more so if the numbers indicate that they are low in the Wollongong region, that would suggest that not enough talent can be generated for two sides from Cronulla to Wollongong
The Illawarra Junior Rugby League competition is one of the strongest Australian rugby league breeding areas and dwarfs the old St George area's numbers - that's where all the dragons current juniors come from.

Well there you go. Dragons should concentrate on that area. Maybe leave their high selling games in Sydney and play their games against regional sides or low rating Sydney sides in Wollongong

If Souths move to SFS they could play 9 games at WIN and 3 home games at SFS with two of those games being against Roosters and Souths with reciprocal members entry and the third game being the Sharks game (always scheduled on a Sunday). That would give Dragons fans a 5 game membership in Sydney and a 9 game membership in the Gong. It seems so obvious but will they do it? The only fly in the anointment I can see would be if they think they can sell more corporate boxes in Sydney than Wollongong.

I think your last sentence probably gives an insight into why they may not.

So two sellouts this weekend and it was clubs that are apparently stagnant who got it. And both of them are getting brand new grounds soon too

Happy days

Brookie after these stadium developments might actually look like a nice ground.

They missed a track with the Dogs/Tigers regards the new stadium developments.

Let's hope they grow bigger and stronger. The game will be better with a strong Penrith and Manly pulling big crowds at new boutique stadia. My concern is teams that haven't grown despite being around for 60 to 100 years because it holds back expansion.
