That's quite an achievement!

I think the outrage over the hilted lightsabre was just initial fan reaction to the idea that potentially the sequel trilogy would go the way of the prequel trilogy. I've always loved it. In fact, I am the only person using the hashtag #coollightsabrebro on instagram. :D

It's not just the cross guard though, it looks badass as f**k because of how 'unclean' it is. All other lightsabers are like perfect cylinders this one is more rugged, and looks more like a lightsaber flame.

It's like baseball bat vs one of the ones with nails in it.

What with Rey and Han being the focal point of the tv spot while Maz is speaking methinks its pretty obvious that Rey is a Solo and hence her mother is a Skywalker thus making her Force sensitive. However it looks like Han and Leia are not together when the movie takes place and I think that Rey being abandoned on Jakku has driven a wedge between them. Then there's the small matter of the "evil twin" Kylo Ren.

I just hope they come up with a backstory that is convincing about how they tie it all together.

I'm hoping Ren isn't a Solo or Skywalker but more like an adoptive son to Luke who went evil.

Kathleen Kennedy recently made a not so apparent segue to twins in the Star Wars Universe. If Ren and Rey are not brother and sister I'll eat my hat.

I know all about the rumours and it is more likely he is a Solo or Skywalker but with the new rumour about the attack on Luke's academy it appears Ren is already with the Order and appears to be older than Rey so they might not be twins afterall

This is a day and age where actors portray characters so much younger than themselves. Driver is 32. Ridley is 23 or 24. Big deal. If they are written to be in their early to mid 20s then that's the role they will play.

I'm aware. I just used Ren off the cuff... same was as I might use Kylo.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to finding out what his REAL name is. Part of me thinks that by the way he talks to Vader's helmet that his name is really Anakin Solo. Again, borrowing from the books but still viable.

Also, there's an article on the net that says that Rey was abandoned on Jakku by her parents when she was a baby. The character played by Max Von Sydow is rumored to be a former Imperial Admiral whose fleet was abandoned and forgotten by the Empire after the Battle of Jakku and the surviving crew make up the population of the settlement where Rey lives. Consequently they all despise the Empire for abandoning them

I think that there might be a plot point where the settlement is secretly being looked after by the Rebels/Resistance/New Republic so The Vicar (as MVS's character has been referred to) can keep an eye on Rey (who I also suspect may end up being Kira Solo) and keep her out of danger. What they don't count on is Luke's lighsaber landing on Jakku and all hell breaking lose.

The closer to the time of release and the more info that is released the more theories I develop.

Not sure what your trying to argue but what I'm saying is during this flashback scene Kylo is a fully grown man where Rey is not so therefore twins it will not appear to be. Twins would be a little lazy anyway borrowing straight from the expanded universe.

The Maz character who's narrating the last TV spot will be interesting to see how she develops with the heroes and how shit fits with Luke and the old/new Jedi order.
