Would go Empire over Jedi but Jedi had the best scene when Luke confronts Vader and the Emperor.

Really enjoyed the Adywan cut of ANH.

Jedi over Empire? Interesting choice.

As a kid I didn't really like empire cause Luke lost the fight against Vader.

As an adult, I don't care that Luke lost against Vader, but I just still love rotj, I love how Luke struggles with his anger towards the end, and used anger, an element of the dark side, in defeating Vader and then being able to pull that anger back and not convert as the emperor wanted. Then of course at the end when Vader turns good, it's just great scriptwriting. Not to mention the battle of endor is one of the greatest battles in movie history. And even at the very beginning of rotj, when you have gone from empire, where Luke was pretty crap in the Jedi arts, to the start of rotj where you see Luke dressed in black and is basically a full on Jedi doing the choke on those pig things and then dominating when rescuing Han from jabba.

I could go on and on about why I love rotj. But basically it's because Luke is a badass mofo and no longer a little whiny bitch.

All fair points. The ewoks were cool also, but I'm surprised you left out Leila. All flesh and skin, just the way Jabba likes it. Yeah buddy.

Watching Empire strikes back now, amazing how different the special effects looks or should I say how crap it looks.

Adywan cut?

Its a fan cut of the movie that goes along fixing issues thats should of been addressed in the special editions. It's quite impressive on what was acheived.

It can be found on the net. Should also be trailers on youtube.

I just recently watched all episodes I was amazed how the originals still looked really good as far as special effects go, albeit they were the digitally remastered ones. Ya gotta remember that a new hope is 40 years old

I actually agree with this one.

On the whole, Empire is probably a strong film in terms of its evenness, but ROTJ for me had more memorable moments and much more compelling encounters.

Vader is a big presence in ESB, but the Emperor, the music that goes with him and the scene with Luke in the obs deck are just so f#cking creepy and compelling in Jedi.

His look, dialogue and delivery are just so spot on and make for probably the most memorable moments in the entire series.

Empire is a great film, but there's nothing in it that matches that for me.

I don't begrudge anyone preferring Jedi to Empire... I find that far easier to understand than people who tell me that LOTR Return of the King was better than Two Towers.

I think Jedi is a great film... It's a great finale... Especially with the evolution in the characters of Vader, Luke and Leija.

But Empire... That JUST beats it IMO... Probably off the fact it has the biggest plot twist in cinematic history...

People forget that... Because we all know how it ends and its a running joke in popular culture...

But if you were sitting down back in the 70's-80's and watching each film for the first time...

Empire and that twist would just blow your mind...

RotK > Two Towers.

As for the second trilogy, I vowed to never watch Revenge of the Sith after the TPM clusterf**k and Anakins sand speech in Attack of the Clones. Should I include this film in my binge watch marathon?

Two Towers > ROTK.

I find Jedi far more enjoyable but Empire is a better, more emotional film.

I'll watch Sith tonight and the originals over the weekend.
