I was watching the deleted scenes for episode 3 and that aboriginal actor with the big white hair and beard was in it as a senator. It was amusing hearing that "black fulla" accent in the Star Wars universe!

We need to start a petition for Australians against Australians/kiwis in Star Wars.

On the contrary. I loved Rose Byrne in Bad Neighbours with her Australian accent. Then again she could be mute and I'd still love her

Worst example is Sam Worthington in Terminator Salvation. You can hear his Australian slip in from time to time

I did love her getting around in her unmentionables in X men First Class. She did allow her accent to slip in at the beginning.

Any Australian actors out there that you think can pull of a good yank accent?

I didn't know that Adelaide Clemens (Blonde chick from Gatsby) was Australian until I googled her. Well she was kind of unknown at the time but still usually I can pick them up straight away.
Now everytime I watch that movie, I can pick her accent up at stages.

regional accents familiar to a specific planet shouldn't really be an issue when your dealing with a story that spans entire galaxy's...

The problem we have is our actors are often type cast from our local soaps... Which ruins the illusion somewhat....

But at the end of the day we are a tiny market in the scheme of things... So Disney couldn't give a f**k about how it looks to us TBH... :lol:
